Early August 2026
The sun was surprisingly strong for an English summer. Felix, who had been born and raised in the south of England, did not cope well with this sort of heat. Even less so when he was playing football in this heat. Sweat poured from his forehead as Gaz shot him a neat pass, and Felix brought it up the field before passing it back to the forward who shot it straight in for their second goal of the second half. Their team, though strictly social, had gotten remarkably better in the past months. They’d won most of their matches, which had been good for Felix who needed every win he could get. He had been in rather a dark place for a while, especially after Melody had passed. Looking back now, he should have known it was coming. Someone so mysterious and dark was never going to be long for this world. He half wished they could have had more time together, but he knew there was no point lingering on the past.
To help draw him out of his hole, Felix had been spending more time with Heleen. He’d also picked up travelling and focused his energy on football training and matches. He’d revisited Svalbard, the place that had so enchanted him from a young age, and one he had shared with Melody in the weeks before her death. The ethereal beauty of the place had not been altered, despite the sadness that enveloped Felix when he thought of his late wife.
Felix missed a pass from the forward and he cursed, chasing after it. His legs pumped quickly and he beat the other team to the ball only by a hair. Unfortunately, the opposing striker went down, rolling on the ground and play stopped momentarily. Knowing he hadn’t touched him, Felix rolled his eyes and walked away, hands on his hips. He glanced around the pitch - then froze. There was a woman standing on the sideline, not ten feet away. Felix’s face must have looked comical as recognition splashed across his face ”H-Hanna?” Felix stuttered, his eyes wide. The whistle went, and the game restarted, but Felix was frozen. He’d never expected to see her again, and here of all places when he was a hot and sweaty mess. ”OI, TELLER, GET IN THE GAME” shouted Gaz crossly. With one last lingering look at Hanna, he shouted ”Ten minutes! to her, his gaze pleading as he jogged back onto the pitch, his mind reeling.

A beautiful summer day had fallen upon London, fluffy clouds up high and the sky bright blue, making it was the perfect weather for a stroll by the park near her new flat. After officially getting adjusted into her new life and job in London, life was feeling much better than she had a few months ago. She loved her newfound independence and change of scenery. Being closer to Lyra Horváth was the perfect antidote for her broken heart, and their participating in underground duels was an exhilarating distraction. These days Hanna preferred to watch her cousin battle, after too many close calls due to her foolish confidence, she knew at the end of the day she wasn't as skilled as Lyra. And she really needed to keep her hands in working order for her never-ending stack of sewing projects sitting on her desk.
Hanna strolled the park at a leisurely pace. People watching was by far one of her favorite activities. Not only did it give her inspiration for new outfits for work and play, it was infinite beacon of entertainment. There were always pampered pets in strollers, lovestruck couples, teenagers drinking wine on the grass...but it was the men playing football that grabbed Hanna's attention today.
Now she knew close to nothing about the sport, but what she did know was that she enjoyed the sight of a hot and sweaty man in small shorts. And boy, did her neighborhood park deliver this hot Saturday afternoon.
Hanna had been thirstily watching the men of the game while aimlessly scrolling her phone every so often. Since she had no place to be, she was taking her time, meandering. She found a place under a tree and watched as one of the players tumbled to the ground dramatically and she laughed, "Drama queen." she coughed playfully into her hand before she heard her name. Hanna turned toward the sound and was surprised to see a very sweaty Felix standing there. Her face flickered from confusion to delight. He looked happy to see her. That alone made her bubble over, which was a weird feeling but she pushed it aside and blamed it on being happy to see her friend again. "Oh, my God! Felix!" she greeted with a grin. It was hard not to hug him right there in the middle of his game. The blow of the whistle made her jump, never have been a sporty person herself. Hanna nodded and gave him a polite wave when he pleaded her to wait for ten minutes. "I'll wait for you, take your time." she assured him sweetly with a smile as she took a seat on one of the benches. Now that she knew a player, she didn't feel bad taking a seat.
After about ten minutes, the match seemed to be coming to a close and Hanna found her stomach dropping in anticipation of speaking to Felix. Hanna wasn't expecting to see Felix after the night at The Coral Room but she thought about him and what a true gentleman he was by making sure she got home safe when she was very drunk. That was a noble move and a person of quality. Twas a shame he was a married man, it seemed all the good ones were always married.

Felix had been completely thrown by Hanna's appearance. And even though he desperately wanted to say that he finished the match off spectacularly, that would have been a lie. He missed a pass from Gaz and was in his head too much to make a further assist. All in all, Felix was quite glad when the game was over. Ignoring his teammates questions about the mysterious blonde sitting on the bench waiting for him, Felix tugged his top over his head and wiped his sweaty forehead with it. He jogged over to Hanna, beaming.
"How have you been?" asked Felix, shaking out his kit and pulling it over his head once more. "D'you fancy getting a coffee or something?" he added. His grey eyes searched her face, and he was pleased to find she seemed quite happy to see him too. He thought of everything that had happened since he last saw her, and wondered how she would react to those various changes. Probably not at all, now Felix came to think of it. But that was unimportant, she was here and she also wasn't recoiling from him. Not only that, but he wasn't completely putting his foot in it by being a pretentious prick.
"You can er... you can just ignore the lads. That's what they do," said Felix hastily as his teammates ogled at Hanna as they passed, patting Felix various places that some people might not be comfortable with. He gave her a half smile and shrugged. "Ever been a sports sort of girl? Somehow I can't imagine it."

Hanna was surprised how quickly time went watching sweaty blokes run back and forth, she easily lost track of time. Before she knew it the team broke for a final time and Felix came running over. She popped up to her feet and met a shirtless Felix asking if she wanted to get coffee. Hanna swallowed, eyes trailing for a moment before tearing away to smile sweetly at the teammates groping him in various places. Hm. Curious. Her bright blue eyes widened, "Better than ever!" she lied easily with a smile. "Just finished moving everything here. Well, not here-obviously-" she outwardly cringed at herself as she stole a look at the man in front of her. Why did shirtless Felix make her stumble her words? Hell, she wasn't expecting sculpted abs and chest under that shirt! Hanna smiled, "I work in London now and moved just down the street from here, so I was checking out what the park had to offer..." she shared, her mind going a million miles a minute, "Wow. Really surprised, but pleased, to run into you again." Hanna told him as she grabbed his arm, before releasing it again. "Would love some coffee, or show me around the 'hood or something." she agreed easily with a smile to his proposition. Felix asked if she'd ever been a 'sports girl' and she grinned before her expression faltered, "I drive the little golf cart. That's about as sporty as I get. If I'm running, you should be too, because it means danger is following." she shared in serious jest, always willing to make fun of herself. Her head cocked to the side with interest, "Do you play here often?" Hanna asked, gaining intel on the married man before her as they started walking. "What's new and exciting with you? Tell me everything." she begged with an easy going smile, she wanted to know everything since the last time she saw him. She had a feeling like this wouldn't be the last time if he continued to pop up like he had at the Coral Room. The universe was planting him like a little seed in her mind. FELIX CICERO TELLER

Felix smirked at how Hanna stumbled over her words. She stole looks at his sweaty form, just as Felix had anticipated. While he was practically melting, he’d also taken his kit off to see if her eye would be drawn. If the spark of attraction was still there between them, tense and heavy and ready to be lit. His calculations were correct, and he easily returned Hanna’s grin. Her smile lit up her face, even the rosiness in her cheeks. ”Well, I assumed you didn’t live in a park. Though if you were homeless, there’s a number of places you’d be able to stay. Probably first your cousin, the one who doesn’t live in Russell Square,” said Felix, leaving it unsaid that she would be welcome at his so-called bachelor pad if need be. ”I’ve a feeling that you’d not be short of people who would be more than happy to help you out.”
The pair stared at each other for longer than truly necessary. Felix was committing her face to memory, though he wondered if Hanna was doing the same. Felix pulled his kit back over his head and rolled his eyes at the antics of his teammates, advising Hanna to simply ignore them. They wouldn’t know what to do with a beautiful woman if she walked in and stomped on them with her Jimmy Choos. Fee had said that to him once, and Felix hadn’t forgotten it. Suddenly, Hanna was clinging to his arm like a life preserver, and Felix laid a hand on hers. Just as suddenly, she pulled it away. Felix wanted to take her hand, which surprised him. He’d been so busy pining over Bianca and his own selfishness that he hadn’t been able to dissect the way he’d felt about Hanna. But now that she stood before him, Felix was overwhelmingly pleased to find her.
”Yeah, me as well. Spoken to Madeleine recently?” asked Felix nonchalantly. ”I dunno why I ask. I see everything on instagram and know you two got brunch last week. Just feel like even without any residual feelings, I ought to ask…” he trailed off, regaining his own awkward self. Hanna graciously accepted his offer of coffee and Felix started off, leading the way to a coffee shop he’d discovered three weeks ago when they’d first played at this pitch.
Almost comically, Felix asked if Hanna had ever been a sports girl. She didn’t seem like it - she was much too put together and manicured for getting sweaty and dirty. Felix knew she was much more creative - he’d discovered as much through a sneaky perusal of her own socials, which he claimed to just be investigative. He guffawed at her statement. ”I’ll keep that in mind. Reckon it will be zombies or possessed mermaids you’d be running from?” asked Felix, jibing off the top of his head.
”No, only started this location about three weeks ago. We used to play further north, but the pitch is undergoing works so we had to relocate,” said Felix as they turned a corner and made their way down a tiny side street. An ivy-fronted brick building loomed before them, and it was obvious that this was their destination. At last, Hanna asked the question that had been burning on Felix’s mind. He stopped, and placed a hand on Hanna’s arm to halt her too. ”A lot has happened,” said Felix, holding her gaze in a steely one of his own. ”Hogwarts fell. My wife died. And there was nothing I could do about either. Do you know how it feels, Hanna?” asked Felix in a quiet voice.

Hanna walked beside Felix as he led the way, easily conversing with him down the narrow street. Bumping into Felix, again, was a lovely surprise, purely by chance and good timing. As Felix asked about Madeline, she laughed, nodding along when he mentioned brunch and seeing her socials. There was a hint of a shy smile there. Sometimes she forgot real life friends followed her shenanigans on the net. She tried to feign nonchalance in her tone, "Well, Maddie is our mutual link. I mentioned running into you randomly at The Coral Room and how you were so kind to make sure I got home safe.. Thank you for that by the way. Alsoo, she got engaged to a bloke she met on the net.." she said with a smile, remembering vividly that the last time she saw Felix he mentioned being accustomed to gossip because of his sister, but she wasn't going to talk badly about her friends.
Felix's offhanded joke made her face flicker, “Hopefully possessed mermaids.” she answered thoughtfully, ”Ha, that actually gives me an idea for something...” Hanna mused with a smile, whipping her phone out of her purse. “Please excuse me for being rude, before I forget that…” she quickly typed it in her phone, fingers moving at record breaking speed as he mentioned that his team had only started playing at that particular park recently. Hanna shoved the phone away into the depths of her purse, "Wow, it looks like the universe continues to find ways for us to cross paths again. Today was a great day for a walk in the park." she smiled. Oh, yes, any day that involved sweaty blokes running on a pitch was a good day.
Her stomach instantly dropped as Felix halted her to a stop when the coffee shop came to view. What Felix said next was like tossing a grenade and walking away. She wasn’t expecting such heavy information. Hanna knew about the unfortunate demise of Hogwarts, but his wife?
The stunned looked couldn't be hidden from her face. It was upsetting information. Her head cocked to the side as she looked at him, lips curling into a downward frown. ”Ohh..oh my god, Felix.” she said quickly as she froze, ”Fuck. I’m so sorry. I-I don’t even know what to say." she admitted to him, her voice caught in her throat. It was these times she wished people couldn't read her face, there was no hiding how she felt.
Hanna didn't know what else to do, but she truly wished to comfort the man, so she stepped forward without thinking twice and offered him a hug. The blonde wrapped her arms around him for an extended embrace, running a soothing hand down his back. Hanna grabbed his hand to give it a squeeze. ”Are you okay? Do you need anything?” she asked him because she truly wanted to help, she just wasn't quite sure how.

Felix said nothing as Hanna pulled out her phone and tapped something out. Felix was used to this sort of behaviour - though Madeleine had never apologised for it. Her online persona was more important than her boyfriend, obviously. One was her world, the other was just a passing phase. Or so, that's how Felix thought about it now. Their relationship had been broken long before they had split up.
"Strange behaviour from an unforgiving universe," said Felix blithely. Long ago, he'd given up on wishing on stars. He'd instead spiralled into why the universe was so unfeeling and vast. That in the grand scheme of things, they were just tiny pinpricks, completely invisible and insignificant on the larger scale. But after many deep and challenging conversations with Bianca, Felix was starting to come around. To find meaning in the little things, even if they didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Life wasn't about making a difference to everything, more about the way it was experienced by each individual. There were days when Felix wallowed in his long lingering depression, though they had become less and less frequent recently. For that, Felix could only thank Bianca and Heleen. And maybe a tiny bit the memory of Hanna and her perfectly painted lips.
Sadness spiked in him as Felix drew Hanna to a stop, and informed her exactly about what had happened since he'd seen her last. His tone was biting and uninviting, though Hanna had done nothing wrong except to ask a simple question. Felix watched her from a clouded countenance, the surprise on her own face betraying her shock at his cold answer. What had she expected? Probably something more polite. Had she been someone else, perhaps Felix would have offered her a boring answer, a lie. But there had been something about Hanna that made him want to tell the truth - especially considering how the last time they had met, she had made him feel heard.
Hanna's embrace and sorrow did not really surprise Felix, but his face twisted as he stood stonily in place. "I don't need your pity," said Felix gruffly, writing out of her grip. "It's a fact. It happened and it's in the past. The universe continues on, and so must we," he added, distinctly not meeting her eye. "Let's just... have a nice time. And a coffee." With that, Felix shepherded her into the cafe, the bell dinging above them. "Give me a mo," said Felix, who disappeared to the loo to clean up. It was thankfully deserted, so whipping out his wand and casting a quick scourgify spell before he changed was easy. He returned to Hanna in less than five minutes. "What would you like?"

Felix’s response was quite unexpected. The situation he shared and seeing the man sweaty at the park was also unexpected.
Hanna’s stomach dropped to the floor as she felt Felix tense up in her arms and take a step back from her, her face flushing red out of embarrassment as he expressed to her that he didn’t want pity. Shit. She wasn’t trying to pity him, but she could certainly see why he would feel that way by how she reacted. Frankly, Hanna didn’t know how to react, she was fortunate enough to not experience unexpected death in her life. Suddenly she felt rude for burrowing into his personal space like a socially ignorant twat. Hell, she remembered how she felt a couple of months ago when people would look at her with a similar expression and tone she gave him. Though, Hanna knew she may have projected a bit during the breakup because she was seeking pity at the time. Ew.
The blonde froze awkwardly, folding her hands in front of her as she feigned some sort of grace she had deep down inside. Hanna swallowed, nodding her head agreeably with a stiff smile when he requested a good time and coffee. ”I-I’m sorry-” her eyes widened, feeling herself spiral into a shitstorm of sorries. ”I’m sorry for saying sorry so much, oh my fucking gawwd fuck. Fuckity fuck.” she lamented as she face palmed, growing more frazzled. It was probably a good thing Felix excused himself to the restroom, though she half expected him to apparate out of the coffee shop right then and there.
Hanna took a seat and scrolled through her phone patiently as she awaited for Felix’s return, trying desperately to regain her composure in his absence. Now she felt a hint of awkwardness nipping at her gut but she also wanted to be there for Felix. By the way he reacted she could tell that he was hurting. There was a steely sadness in his eyes that made her want to comfort him in a way that didn’t make him feel pitiful. She’d have to gauge how to do that.
As Felix emerged from the restroom asking what she would like. Well...for things to not be awkward, she thought. ”Excuse me for being 'Basic', a Vanilla Latte please.” she said, forcing a cheerful smile. Hanna looked him up and down with a chuckle, noticing the change of attire, "You performed what we call in theatre, 'the quick change'." she said in a lighthearted tone, attempting to move on from the awkwardness.

Undoubtedly, Felix’s reaction to Hanna’s response was rather unfair. He shouldn’t have clammed up like that - but he didn’t want anyone’s pity. Especially not Hanna’s. How many people had he loved and lost? His mother? Madeleine? Melody? And countless others… if he had to define his love, he could only say that it was a poison. He didn’t want Hanna to look at him like that, not with a softness in her eyes, sorrow that he didn’t deserve. And he didn’t want to poison her either. Felix slithered out of her grip and continued towards the coffee shop, dipping quickly into the loo to change and collect himself.
When Felix returned, he had pulled himself together somewhat. His steely eyes softened when they fell upon Hanna, sitting primly at the table. There was something ethereal about the picture of her, sitting in the sunlight that slanted through the windows, her lips quirked up at a hidden joke, her eyes downcast and her hair curving over her shoulder. Felix froze for a moment, stunned. He cleared his throat then forced himself to keep walking. He was calm, he was collected, and there absolutely was not a storm brewing in his mind. If there was, Felix masked it. He chuckled at her response. ”Nothing basic about good taste,” Felix replied blithely, sauntering off to the counter to order for the pair of them. It only took a few moments, but when Felix returned, he was toting two steaming mugs. ”Vanilla latte for you,” said Felix, gingerly setting the mug before her. ”I’ve been boring and got a tea. Shame they wouldn’t slip any whisky in,” he added, more to himself than anything.
Felix settled into the seat before Hanna, and finally lifted his gaze to hers. Her blue eyes bore no hint of sadness, nothing of the darkness that coiled within him. Felix clenched his jaw - he shouldn’t have invited her here. All he would do was poison her. But there was that tiny clawing at hope that she would see something in him that he couldn’t. He took a sip of his tea, buying himself time. ”I saw you got a new job,” said Felix stiffly, recalling a post on Instagram of hers that he’d seen some time ago. ”Congratulations,” he added after a moment.

Hanna’s heart rate was going a hundred miles minute after getting stuck in a cycle of ‘I’m sorry’s. Hell, sometimes it was a blessing and a curse to be polite. Luckily, Felix went to fetch their drinks after complimenting her good taste. Hanna perched herself on a chair and played it cool, sneaking a glimpse of Felix in the process while he ordered. The man seemed to be courteous towards staff, which was something she appreciated. Hanna offered him a shy smile across the room as she slowly began to regain her composure. There was something about the way Felix looked at her that made her feel lovely. Maybe she was so lonely the mere presence of a man mad her ovaries swell.
After a couple of moments Felix returned with the steaming mugs, stating that it was a shame they wouldn't slip any whiskey in it. Hanna chuckled, "Psh, I know a place. If you want some whiskey, I live a hop and skip down tha-" she pointed the wrong way before correcting herself with a goofy smile. "That way."
As Felix set the vanilla latte in front of her, he congratulated her on her new job. ”Thank you,” she smiled as she gestured to the coffee, gushing with awkwardness at the congratulations ever so slightly as it sank in. ”Ha, sometimes I forget that people from ‘Real Life’ follow me on IG…” she admitted with a laugh, suddenly feeling bashful about the fact, that well, she posted idiotic content at times. Things she suddenly cringed at the thought of Felix seeing. Hanna didn’t like her new job much but she wouldn’t admit it to him and sound like a downer. Television and film weren’t her passion. She was more of a theatre kid at heart and enjoyed working freelance more than anything because of the freedom. WitchTV should have been named something more like ‘BitchTV’ with how cliquey some people were there. She knew everything was temporary.
Her cheeks flushed a hint as she feigned a nonchalant shrug. ”Working at WitchTV has been..different..” her face scrambled as she searched for the correct word to describe her new job. Hanna took sip to buy herself time. ”Hey…maybe you have some much needed insight for me..” she sighed, blue eyes falling on the man as she attempted to meet his gaze. Hanna observed the look on his face, noticing the fine line of his jaw and steely eyes. Hanna secretly hoped she get the man to smile before exiting the coffee shop. ”Have you ever had a job that you enjoy, but a coworker you absolutely hate?” she asked, ”Ignoring her isn't an option and she’s not one for flattery, I’ve already tried that..and I refuse to kiss anyone’s ass if they aren’t my ‘boss’..” Maybe the only solution was to fight fire with fire and be a bitch back.

Felix grinned, challenging himself not to eagerly accept Hanna's offer. There was something so enticing about her, something that made him want to open himself up and tell her his secrets. She was so easy to talk to, and the way her blue eyes widened slightly at the idea of something interesting or purely preposterous. "Maybe later," said Felix finally, settling on that idea. He tried not to sound too eager at the prospect, and instead busied himself with taking too big a sip of tea, burning his mouth, and spilling it back into the mug. "That... that was hot," he said weakly, his eyes streaming.
Felix hadn't realised it was so much of an admission that he followed Hanna on instagram. To him, it had been the logical thing to do. They had met up in a nice place, Madeleine was her friend, and the social media platform seemed to be a good enough place to see what was happening around the capital. Thankfully, Felix didn't admit that he had sometimes clicked into Hanna's profile, staring at the profile picture of her looking off into the distance. He frequently thought of messaging her, before shutting down his phone before he could do any more damage. It had been only right, he thought to himself now. With everything he touched wilting, it was only right. Felix couldn't bear to see Hanna lose her shine.
For a moment, the pair of them shared a peaceful silence, with Felix sipping his tea more cautiously now. Hanna spoke about how different her job at Witch TV was from what she had done previously. "Well... maybe you're going about it the wrong way. You worked in theatre design before, if I remember right? What if instead of staying in the biz, you joined the fashion world?" suggested Felix, his gaze intent on her. Hanna's next question had Felix chuckling. He glanced down at his tea, fidgeting with the tag of the teabag that hung over the edge. "My boss was arrested for Purifier involvement a few months ago," Felix admitted. Surely, Hanna had read about it or head about it in the papers. Asher Burke's incarceration was no secret. "I liked him. A lot. He was like a mentor to me. But I never subscribed to that way of thinking. How could I?" he asked rather weakly, looking up at Hanna. "Have you tried speaking to her? To understand... what is going on? Why she may act the way she does? To find out who she truly is and not the person she puts on display?"

Hannas eyes fell on Felix as his mug raised to his mouth after telling her ‘maybe later’. The thought of Felix at her place suddenly made her feel nervous…she hoped she didn’t have needles and sewing equipment strewn across the living room. But it was also exhilarating. Hanna wasn’t sure if it was because Felix was Maddie’s ex, but Maddie couldn’t care less when she brought him up. That was a green flag from the universe, although she admittedly didn’t think she’d see him around again, especially so soon. But here they were. She was glad she didn’t take a sip of her latte at that moment because she probably should have spat it right back into the mug at his reaction. Passing Felix a napkin with an easy smile and fit of intensifying giggles, ”I’m sorry for laughing.” she howled again, unable to stop the fit of giggles. An unrestrained, sympathetic smile spread across her girlish features as he regained his composure. He handled it well. Felix offered her another way of looking at the co-worker situation, which she appreciated. She listened with interest, unable to hide the growing smile as Felix spoke, his fingers fidgeting with his tea bag every so often.
The blondes head tilted to the side with interest, eyes widening slightly as the gears in her head started to turn as he mention his boss being a Purifer and getting arrested. ”Ooh, wow. I'm pretty sure I read about that happening at the Ministry..” she shared, her smile dropping as she connected the dots. "Did they take him to Azkaban?" she asked, a slightly gossipy air in her tone but she was honestly just curious. Hanna wasn’t one to judge, really. She partook in illegal activities on the daily with her cousin Lyra, though she preferred to watch more these days. The Purifers were known terrorists though, so that was a bit different...
Her perfectly painted paws cradled the warm mug, thoroughly enjoying the conversation with Felix and the sound of his voice. ”Well, fashion industry is the plan, or a personal designer for someone of Camilla Calderon caliber. A part of me has just been too scared to make the jump over to the fashion world full-time.” she shared, ending a bit timidly. She felt like she was being too open about her plans. What if she didn’t succeed? That would be embarrassing. Hanna learned not to share her ideas with people, but Felix was someone she suddenly wanted to share with; she also wanted to be there for him in the dark time he must had been enduring in his life as of late.
Hanna’s expression flickered with consideration when he told her she was probably taking the wrong angle in the situation, recommending that maybe he should attempting talking to her, to understand the situation. ”Ahh, who would have thought. Communicating like an adult may actually be a good angle…” she agreed, rolling her eyes sarcastically in a playful jest. ”No, I haven’t tried that.” she answered lamely with a chuckle. Hanna wasn’t sure if confronting her hostile co-worker would come off as too aggressive, but she would try it.

Felix wiped at his face with the back of his hand, a reluctant grin splitting across his features. "Not only was it embarrassing, I'm sure it was funny too," he said, looking down at the offending mug. "Honestly, why did I get a drink this hot on a boiling day like this? I think I try to subscribe a bit too much to the British norm," he added after a moment of thought. But when Felix glanced up, all shreds of embarrassment were wiped clean from his slate. Hanna smiled, a sympathetic look on her delicate face, and Felix had the insane urge to do it again.
Blinking rapidly to clear his mind, Felix cleared his throat. He had to drop his gaze to his tea again to hide the rising heat in his face. He fidgeted with the tea bag, reminding himself that Hanna had so much potential in her, so much more to live for than a man who was so lost in his own mind. Yet she coaxed him out of his dark shell, bringing joy to his life in a way he hadn't expected. Especially considering she was a friend of Madeleine's. Madeleine, who had made it very clear that their lives were going in different directions. Madeleine, whom he had first fallen in love with at a book shop.
Felix suggested a change of scenery for Hanna - that working in fashion was perhaps the better career choice for her than costume design. He had noticed the amount of thought she'd put into what she wore and the way she held herself. It was, though he loathed to admit it, rather similar to the aura Madeleine had given off. But Madeleine was a well respected young woman in the muggle world, and a well dressed one to boot. "I'm sure your connections can give you a head start. And Madeleine probably knows a designer or two who are looking to take on talented designers," said Felix kindly. "Oh, don't they do some sort of show about it? What's it called, I swear she made me watch it once." Felix clicked his fingers. "Project Runway!"
Felix only intended to briefly mention his boss being arrested. He grimaced as Hanna's tone changed slightly, her curiosity piqued. "Not as far as I know," said Felix, before quickly circling back to the previous topic. "Sounds like you've got a good idea of what you'd like. The brave man is not the one who feels no fear, but the one who conquers it," said Felix. "Or, you know, woman in your case. You don't seem to me to be the kind of person who backs down from a challenge," said Felix, tilting his head slightly. "I think you're spectacular. And I think you can do what you set your mind to," said Felix, his tone softening as he spoke.

”Would ordering a refreshing iced tea on a scorching hot day be against the Brit status quo?” she asked playfully with a smile, nudging him with a chuckle. Her expression brightened thoughtfully, ”Oh, you could even add add açaí or strawberries. That’s so in right now.” Hanna commented with a chuckle because she felt like a complete ditz standing next to Felix, for saying stupid shit she was thinking out loud. Lifting the hot beverage carefully to her lips, she took a sip, noticing that Felix grimaced as he replied about his boss. It seemed like his life as of late had been quite eventful. She wished that she could help him get the struggles of daily life off of his mind. ”I’m sorry that happened.” she reassured him, careful to keep the pity out of her tone, because that wasn't an emotion she was trying to convey. Felix's idea was to go more the fashion route, which she was happy he said. He seemed to know her interests and keen to talk about them. Hanna folded her hands in her lap, listening intently as his lips moved, taking his words into thoughtful consideration. "We're our own worst enemies, I suppose...I think I've got that...what's it called, 'Imposter Syndrome'." she sighed and shook her head at herself. Ultimately fashion was what she wanted to pursue, she wasn't sure what was holding herself back. Probably herself. Her expression brightened as she bubbled over with laughter as she pictured Felix engaged in an episode of Project Runway, "Also-You've sat through Project Runway?" she asked in disbelief, grabbing his arm as she gave him a nod and squeal of approval. Her eyes fell to Felix’s gaze as his voice softened, her bright blue eyes clashing with his stormy stare as she felt her body freeze up. He called her spectacular, following with telling her that he believed that she could do anything. Suddenly she was hyper aware of her heart thumping rapidly against her chest. His kind words had caught her completely off guard, but as a girl who loved flattery, she was truly melting into a puddle at Felix's feet. "Okay, now, carry on with the compliments.." she gave him a curt nod, waving him on eagerly to continue. Hanna was obviously joking, but eating it up. Hanna broke into a slow grin, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear as her cheeks went red. “Wow, thank you, Felix. That has to be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.” she laughed, slightly awkwardly because she suddenly felt nervous. Hell, she hoped she didn’t break out into nervous giggles. “I wish I could carry you around in my pocket..” she told him happily with a giggle. A pocket sized, pep talking Felix, was a great image that came to mind. FELIX CICERO TELLER

Felix eyed Hanna for a moment, struck dumb by her comment. The concept of iced tea was entirely foreign to him. "Why would you put ice in tea?" asked Felix, feeling as if this was completely blasphemous. And it was. Tea was best enjoyed with a dash of milk and boiling hot. Even on a day like today. And even if he had wanted an iced drink, it most certainly would go against his very being. There was a ceiling fan turning lazily above them, more shifting the sweltering air around the room than anything. "I don't even know what açai is... and strawberries in tea?" Felix regarded her suspiciously. "Now it sounds like you're trying to poison me."
Talking about his former mentor was a struggle for Felix, so he was glad when Hanna grasped onto the topic of moving more into fashion design. "It is," he replied evenly, his grey eyes intense as they roved the fair features of her face. "But in my experience, you're right. The only person holding you back is yourself," said Felix quietly. "The best thing you can do is trust your instinct. More often than not, it is right." He blew on the tea and took a thoughtful sip. He smirked at Hanna's shock that he had managed to sit through that fashion show. "I can be very patient," he said pointedly, arching a brow. In more ways than one, he failed to add, but as he appraised Hanna, bubbly, effervescent Hanna, from across the table, he realised how pleased he was to have run into her again. "Though I don't know if I can manage more of that Tim Gunn bloke's fed lines. He talks like a robot, or someone under the imperious curse." He paused, his brow crumpling. "Maybe he is?"
Felix was not typically the sort of man to spring compliments like this. But as Hanna touched his arm and charmed him, he realised just how much of a changed man he was. What a journey he had come on - from his days just a year ago with Madeleine, only half existing between the clouds and the ground. With Bianca, discovering his strength and willpower and desire to live. To Melody, who turned out to be both a blessing and a curse on the heart he'd never expected to have. And now Hanna, wrapping it all up in a neat little bow with a sprinkle of glitter. Felix fought the urge to lean over the table and kiss her there and then, sealing the promise that he would cherish her and support her given the word. He swallowed thickly, placing a hand on hers. "I will. You don't need me in your pocket, you've already got me wrapped around your finger."
