It was February and thus the beginning of the peak tourist season on Hy-Brasil, particularly with Imbolc one day—or mere hours, technically—away. The first time she had experienced the month of February among the Druids, Dreama had been surprised by the lengths to which everyone went. In her view, it would be hard to find a party anywhere that rivaled the joy with which the Druid community on Hy-Brasil celebrated the fact that January, their time of mourning, had come to an end.
The rooms available at the Flaming Wand were all booked in anticipation of the next day's holiday, which meant that the pub was even busier. All the patrons were buzzing with excitement, and that made working as their bartender that much easier for Dreama. For hours, she had been serving all sorts of Druid-made alcoholic beverages, glad that her partner could watch their daughter while she worked. Even last call wouldn't bring an end to her work that night, Dreama knew, since people would need more time to finish their final drinks.
Dreama had had worse times as a bartender, certainly, so she wasn't opposed to being there a bit later than she might have otherwise. The change in the mood from only a few days before was invigorating, honestly, and she knew that this year's Imbolc celebrations would be made even better because her daughter, Stella, was old enough to find enjoyment in it, even though she probably wouldn't remember it as she got older.
