Alohomora NaNoWriMo 2023

Hello, lovely members! November is "National Novel Writing Month", also known as NaNoWriMo. Since its inception, it has become a worldwide month of writing fun.

While some members will be working on their own writing projects, some members will be roleplaying on the site. So, in the spirit of the season, Alohomora will be joining the festivities again in 2023!

For those unfamiliar with NaNoWriMo, it's where, during the month of November, you try to write 50,000 words! It's not mandatory; just a personal challenge. As in the past, everyone will keep track of their word count here in this thread and go for word milestones. Each milestone, as usual, will have an awesome reward!

So, use THIS WEBSITE to get your word count for each IC post. Then, modify your original post with the word count for each subsequent IC post. Track it however you want; just make sure you track it here! The milestones we will be going for are below:

5k

Free Enchanted Cell Phone from the Galleon Shop (normally 75G)

10k

100 Galleons

20k

Free ×2 Resident Board from the Galleon Shop (normally 200G)

OR

Free Business Board from the Galleon Shop (normally 200G; stated restrictions in the Galleon Shop apply)

30k

Prodigy Skill Mastery:

×1 Skill Mastery that won't require any posts to be completed for one character, and an age exception will be granted for that Skill Mastery. (Giving this to a character under 25 will get a "prodigy" title, while over 25 will get a "mastery" title.) Rules related to power-playing still apply.

We're giving you a choice this year, so you get to pick one of the following:

Special Custom Ability:

This is an "enhanced" custom ability, and it is a custom ability with fewer restrictions than our regular custom abilities. Additionally, that ability will remain unique to the character to whom it is given for as long as the character is not dropped/deleted.

Like last year, those who have already earned Special Custom Abilities are permitted to earn subsequent ones. Special Custom Abilities must be applied to a character without an existing Special Custom Ability.

OR

Free Additional Character:

Regardless of your current number of characters (or current inactive characters), this purchase will earn you a free one, if you so choose! If you've written 50,000 words this month, then you can definitely handle another. 😉

OR

Activity Bypass for One Month:

Go ahead and relax (or brag on Discord)! Choosing this option will allow you to bypass the activity requirements for a month of your choosing at any time in the future — while keeping your characters active as though you had met the requirements, no extenuating circumstances required.

By the way, every 10,000 words you write beyond 50,000 will earn you an extra 100 Galleons!
