Coffee. That was the only supplement capable of keeping Finn up late at night. She had tried to substitute it with potions of non-drowsiness and no-maj caffeine pills, but both left her feeling sluggish. Especially the potions. They had a bad habit of acting like alcohol on her, and blackouts frequented from overuse of them. So those had been immediately eliminated from her longer nights on the job. That had all been tested back home in New York City though. London was a little different from there. Coffee seemed more accessible at late nights for some reason, so there she was sitting in a diner reminiscent of back home. It was almost uncanny how similar this restaurant was to some of the ones she had frequented back home. One that she had become a regular at was practically convinced that she was an undercover police officer or detective, and would routinely give her free coffee or meals. They were kind of right. She tried her best not to pose as a no-maj officer though, because things got ugly when they stepped in. Her tattoos did enough as they were, and while she loved being able to express herself through them, there were times where both law enforcement and riff-raff thought they meant something else.
Finn had eaten dinner at the diner as well. A steak. She missed the ones from back home, but this place seemed to have a halfway decent one. The coffee was just the follow up to it while she waited for Karen to arrive. Or would it be Kara this time? At least it was easy to tell between the girl’s personalities these days. There were times during school where it was…difficult, to say the least. Wrapping both hands around her coffee mug, Finn pressed the edge of it to her lips once again, taking an elongated sip. This was going to be a long night.
