27TH DECEMBER 2024
When Sari Fawley found out her best friend of all time would be going home for the Winter Break, she was sure she would burst into tears. In prior years, Sari had always returned home for winter breaks or general breaks but was forced to spend the entire holiday by her families side. But now, being seventeen and somewhat legal to buy firewhiskey, freedom was officially granted. And so, the days that led up to the twenty first consisted of Sari bugging her house/dorm/best friend: Helena Krum. She pleaded for the youngest Krum girl to attend the Hogsmeade festival, knowing it would have some kind of change in comparison to the year prior.
And boy did she succeed. The plans were set, a decision made to meet in the early afternoon of the twenty-seventh, so Christmas with the family was spent with and there were no official excuses to not allow the blonde to go. With her hair freshly bleached, dark roots out of sight, Sari dressed fashionably warm as she strolled past the markets within Hogsmeade. Small shops filled with ornaments and decorations while other areas were filled with food beyond food. Sari was sure her mouth was watering.
Though for the two Hufflepuff’s, they planned to meet around the Steaming Stout, where they could warm themselves before spending the day enjoying the festivities. Somewhat on time, Sari stood outside of the building, her hands stuffed into her pockets while blue eyes searched amongst the many groups that passed her, to hopefully find Helena in one of them. @helena & hopefully this works!

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] Helena always went home for all the breaks, mostly because she enjoyed the company of her family, but also because she had no reason to stay behind at Hogwarts. The days leading up to their last day on the grounds were filled with begging and pleading from Sari Fawley herself, and finally, she gave in. She agreed to come to the Hogsmeade festival, and they set a date and time for the two of them to meet up. With that, the two of them spent time on the train ride home before bidding each other farewell until their scheduled "date" to visit Hogsmeade. That was the last she saw of Sari before the 27th of December fell upon the world and she took a train to the Hogsmeade station to meet her up. Her parents had agreed to let her go, and for that, she was happy, after all, she was old enough to do so. The two of them had agreed to meet near the Steaming Stout, and once her train arrived in Hogsmeade, she brushed her dark brunette hair behind her ear, fixed her warm winter jacket and leggings that lead down to her fluffy boats, and made her way towards their meeting place. It seemed that Sari was already there, looking around for the Krum girl to arrive and a smile appeared on her face. “Sari!” she called, gaining the girl’s attention a little too late before she threw herself at her friend and wrapped her arms around the blonde’s body, pulling her into a strong hug.

Spending time amongst her family was one thing Sari enjoyed to do when she hadn’t seen any of them for moments on end, but when the majority of the Fawleys were found in Hogwarts and even Laurel, who was their Professor on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings, time away from them all was somewhat necessary. Her journey to Hogsmeade was brief, quiet and enjoyable, the train filled with families and other people she remembered schooling against in Hogwarts — even a few people she had conversed with and increased her social stability in the school.
In the past few days the temperature had dropped, leading to the blonde wrapping up warm, a hat sitting upon her blonde waves, covering the mess she usually had on a day-to-day basis. It wasn’t long until she heard her name, blue eyes looking up and seeing a familiar bundle of brunette hair. Helena looked so comfortable in her winter clothes but the strong hug she was pulled into left the two of them sharing their heat. ”Helly!” She squealed, her arms tightening around her friend.
Once they pulled back from one another, Sari beamed at her friend, pressing her index finger against Helena’s nose. ”I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.” She stated, even though it had truthfully just been shy of a week. ”Has…Has your hair grown?” She teased, pale fingers reaching up to touch her friend’s locks.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] The two girl’s embraced, and not even the cold could separate them due to the warmth both radiated. The arms around her were tight, but the ones that she returned were just as suffocating as the two hugged and practically squealed each other’s names. And then, they pulled back, and Sari poked her nose as she said that she felt like she hadn’t seen her in forever, evoking a giggle to leave her lips. She frowned as her friend asked if her hair had grown, though she knew she was teasing from her tone, as she reached up and touched her hair. She let out a laugh, “I feel the same way. A week is too long without you around,” she said dramatically, placing a hand on her heart, “It gives me pain when you are so far away.” She began giggling, shaking her head and her hair moved back and forth, “So where are we going? What’s the plan?”

THE COLD WAS one thing Sari Fawley refused to allow to bother her. Wrapped tight in Helena’s embrace and fighting off the cold with her warm but…fashionable choice of clothing, Sari breathed, a grin on her lips as her breath escaped into the air once the two unlatched themselves. Helena was right. A week was way too long for the two to be separated especially as Helena was usually the first person Sari directed her insane ideas to. ”Right! Don’t leave me for so long ever again.” She teasingly pouted, her arms drawing into a fold across her chest, the pout fading once Helena rested her hand on her heart.
Soon enough, giggles filled the air, first Helena’s and then herself. Stunned with awe at Helena’s performance her hands came together to sound off a quiet applause. Encore!” She joked before settling into seriousness. Since it was Sari’s idea for the two Hufflepuff’s to attend Hogsmeade’s festival, she was also in charge of the plans for the day while Helena figured out what food they should eat. It was already mid-day, giving them enough time to spend running around until dark and ultimately that being the time they had to return home. ”Well. Food first since its bloody freezing!” She announced, rubbing her freezing fingers together. ”Then we take on the challenge of…Ice skating.”
Sari wasn’t exactly the best skater, nor was she the best at the Snowball fight that happened every year. Her best talents resided with Charms, eating, and having the wildest looking hair. Though, today was different, it was actually straightened and completely blonde. ”Maybe we grab more food and drinks afterwards, buy knick-knacks and gifts, for the loved ones go on the majority of the Carriage Rides, and then spend the last hour or so on the Ferris Wheel. Just for that quality sunset view.”

YOU LOOK GREATEST WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE A DAMN QUEEN ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY, TRYING TO WIN AT LIFE
The two were easily best of friends, the teasing and giggles being heard for miles. And of course, the joking the two had towards one another, was easily Helena's favorite. Sari Fawley was her favorite of the Fawley siblings, though she was slowly getting to know the professor that was Sari's older sister. She had so many siblings; it was hard to keep track!
Helena bowed as her friend called for an encore, clapping as she did so. She blushed and swatted her hand, "Oh no, I couldn't possibly...it might spoil things for the next show," she said before erupting in giggles once more.
'Well. Food first since it's bloody freezing! Then we take on the challenge of...ice skating.' Helena giggled, "It's a challenge for you not for me," she started before allowing her friend to finish for what they should do after. She nodded her head, "You have it all planned. I'm down! Let's go; I need some hot chocolate to warm these brittle bones!" she exclaimed dramatically, shivering from head to toe. Sure, she was a bit cold and did want to warm up, but at that moment, she was exaggerating. @sari
