notes here. @oona words: #### | He merely kept quiet at this, raising an eyebrow instead. Out of marble? He was just a generic person, so he believed anyways. Something definitely seemed off, and it definitely seemed to be a by-product of that candy. There wasn't much else option wise. Though he wondered if him picking it up and giving it to her set it off. That was a possibility, and definitely something to ask the Potions Professor when he had the opportunity to do so. It was a question that he'd have to worry about in the future. Of course, hearing her repeatedly say his name definitely caused him to give her an odd look. He sat down, setting his guitar on the ground and began to think. multiply life by the power of two |

April 19, 2025 Suddenly, Matt sat himself down on the ground without another word. Oona was amused by that—as she would have been by anything that he had done at that moment, solely because he was Matt Johanson—and quirked an eyebrow back at him.
She also decided to sit down on the ground. If Matt had done it, what was stopping her? It was a nice day—or it was a nice evening, rather. "What are you thinking about?" Oona questioned Matt with a smile. Was he thinking of another song that he could play for her? Maybe he would even write one for her. She didn't know, but the possibilities seemed endless.

notes here. @oona words: #### | "To be honest? Nothing at the moment. I'm just gonna relax right here," he said with a shrug, while wondering just what Oona might do. He still wasn't sure if there was an influencing factor to this behavior, but if there was he figured he still had to wait out a chunk of time before it was all clear. That meant playing it safe or end up having to deal with who knows what. That was something he didn't want to think about as it was just vague enough to be a problem, and Matt didn't need any trouble at the moment, especially considering what that trouble could be. multiply life by the power of two |

April 19, 2025 "To be honest? Nothing at the moment. I'm just gonna relax right here,” Matt informed her. Relaxation was good, Oona thought to herself, too. She liked the sound of it, and so she decided that she would also seat herself on the grass. Besides, it would give her more time to spend with Matt, which she didn’t mind. “Relaxing’s nice,” she nodded, sitting down as she spoke. She didn’t do much relaxing, really, unless it included a good book. While some people found reading to be a chore, it wasn’t for her. She liked reading, and she almost wished that she had a book with her to read. But she didn’t like reading as much as she liked Matt. And now she was relaxing with Matt. How many other girls could say that? “Are you going to write a song about me, Matt?” Oona asked, the question re-emerging. She did want to know, and she thought that it was a good question. Besides, it would be confirmation that Matt liked her as much as she liked him. She liked that, too. It was just impossible to find things to dislike about Matt Johanson. Even “like” didn’t feel like a strong enough word. No, Oona thought; she loved him.

notes here. @oona words: #### | "That is definitely true," he replied with a nod, stretching a bit. Her odd words and actions had him wondering just what it was that was in those chocolates. It may have been a love potion of some kind, which usually required someone else's DNA to trigger.... Wait! When he had picked the chocolate to hand it to her! That was the trigger! Which meant what Oona was experiencing wasn't actually real, just created by a potion laced in those chocolates by a troublemaker eager to stir up some sort of drama or trouble! That was not good, and it meant Matt was going to have to be really careful with Oona while she was under the influence of the potion.
"Um... maybe. Inspiration for a song usually doesn't hit me right away. Could take some time," he said with a small apologetic shrug. He was sure this would be a rough situation for both of them if Oona went beyond words while under the influence of the potion. He was sure she would already be embarrassed by her words once she got free of the influence, but he really hoped she didn't end up doing anything action wise that could make it worse.

April 19, 2025 Matt explained to her that his song ideas didn’t just come to him right away; sometimes, he said, they took some time. But Oona wasn’t concerned about that. As long as she was in Matt’s company, that was good enough for her. He had agreed, too, that relaxation was a nice thing, so they had all the time in the world for him to come up with a song. Preferably, Oona thought, it would be one that happened to be about her. Maybe Matt just didn’t want to be so overt about it. Songs about romance and falling in love were always popular, and she liked that he seemed to be the creative type. Sometimes, she knew, the process for things like that didn’t happen overnight—or even in the span of a few minutes. Love at first sight, though? That was instantaneous. “I could help?” Oona offered. Anything to spend more time with him. “Are you wanting words that rhyme?” There were more than a handful that rhymed with “love”: “dove”, “above”, “shove”…

"It's really not that simple. Sometimes it takes weeks or months for songwriters to really put a song together. Some can get it done in a few hours, yes. However, I'm not one of them," he said with a shrug. He could only wonder what exactly was going through her mind. She hadn't done anything alarming just yet, but he knew there was still a good amount of time left before the potion wore off, and that meant he still had to try and keep her at bay to some degree in order to avoid something embarrassing. It was a tricky scenario, but he was certain he could pull it off, maybe.
"Rhyming words is hardly the problem. The whole song would be where it takes a while. You could spend all day making a list of words that rhymed and you still wouldn't have a song or even a poem," he then added, feeling like he was instructing more than anything. That could be potentially dangerous in of itself. Oona could end up writing something about him in the short span that the potion still had hold, and that would be difficult to get rid of easily for both of them. Matt just had to play it safe here if they were both going to be clear of this with minimal to no embarrassment.

Weeks? Months? Oona's eyes widened in wonder. She hadn't expected the songwriting process to take that long!

"Oh. But could you make a song out of a poem?" Oona asked him, her voice rising. There were love poems, of course, and Matt was excellent inspiration for that. "I could write one!" she offered. She did have those rhyming words in her head already.

"Possible, but at the same time you can't really rush the process along. Otherwise you risk the song itself not sounding as well as it did in your head. You have to be sure of the words and the instrumentals behind the words. Otherwise you just get what any five year old would play on a piano," he noted, wondering just how intent she was on her current path. He just had to find a way to wear down the time until the potion had run its course, and he didn't want her to do anything she might regret. Though knowing his luck, she could end up kissing him right as it expired, and that would be a problem. Well, could would be more precise. After all there wasn't a huge guarantee that she would be anything more than embarrassed in the event that happened. Of course, she was already going to be embarrassed by what she was saying and how she was acting at the moment....

April 19, 2025 Still, Matt told her; the process of songwriting was one that couldn’t be rushed. Otherwise, he clarified, there was the risk that the song wouldn’t actually sound as good as good as it did in the songwriter’s head. Oona didn’t know how that was possible, though, for she was certain that anything Matt played or sang would sound as though it had come from a choir of angels. “But have you got any ideas, Matt?” Oona wondered, looking into his eyes. Even if he didn’t want her help—at least, not explicitly—that didn’t mean that she couldn’t help him to get his creative juices flowing. “You must be just as creative as you are handsome…”

“A few,” he replied, partially to bait the conversation and mostly to try and keep from causing any issues. Her interest in him was not yet bordering on creepy... and there it was. Well she had only said he was handsome. That on its own wasn’t a bad thing to say, was it? Wait, he needed to remember he was trying to keep this from being too embarrassing for them both, not being okay with it and causing embarrassment.
“Um well I’m somewhat creative... So I dunno what all to say about that,” he managed to say. He wondered if he really needed to slip away from her somehow, especially if her comments were starting towards what could be really embarrassing.

April 19, 2025 Matt was, in a word, modest. He was obviously very good at music—his earlier guitar-playing had proven that to Oona—though he tried to pass off his skills as no big deal. He said that he had a few ideas, but Oona guessed that that was merely his way of downplaying his talents. He must have had plenty of songs swirling around in his head.
When she complimented him and called him handsome, Oona knew that her suspicions about Matt's modesty had to have been correct. He called himself only "somewhat" creative, and he said that he didn't know what to say about that.
Oona, however, giggled. It was so amusing to her, and Matt was so great. He was so funny! "Oh, Matt!" she shook her head, laughing more than speaking. "You're so funny!" It was great; no, he was great.
Oona suddenly blushed. "Has anyone ever told you that your face looks like somebody carved it out of marble?"

"Eh, if so then it's just because of who I am. Funny guy I'd suppose," he said with a chuckle. It was continuing to be odd, but so far nothing all that worrisome in regards to her word choice or actions. Handsome had been a bit concerning, but not enough to really worry him. What would worry him would be if she said something like.... well, something like she had just said right then. That took it up a notch it didn't need to go and now he was a bit worried, though he didn't let it show.
"Eh? I dunno about marble. I'm pretty ordinary," he said with a skeptical tone and expression. He knew it was unlikely that a love potion would ramp up effect, but it could also be a case of Oona feeling braver about saying what the potion was influencing her to say. He had to wonder if maybe, just maybe he should start seriously thinking about an escape plan. He really didn't want to be around if she opted to go beyond words at any point, but would there be a warning that could help him maybe prevent her from doing something like that? He had no real way of knowing, and that made the wanna-be Auror very nervous on the inside, his outside showing no signs.

April 19, 2025 Matt was just so humble as he talked about how he supposed that he was simply a “funny guy”. Handsome, funny, and humble… How had she not noticed him before? Oona wasn’t sure about that, but she really, really enjoyed being in his company. It was so entertaining, and she had never been able to read people in the way that she read books! He said that he didn’t know about marble, though, and Oona’s expression faltered. He didn’t know about marble… There were two possible meanings, of course. One was that he didn’t know what marble was, which was what Oona thought that it sounded like for a moment. The other was that he didn’t know if her description of him was correct, which she knew that it was. She could see him with her own eyes. "I’m pretty ordinary,” Matt claimed. Oona shook her head, not wanting to hear a word of it. “No, Matt!” she beamed. “You’re absolutely extraordinary. And I think I fancy you.”

Those words sold it as him needing to be very careful at that point. Matt's mindset really shifted to a defensive one, and that meant being ready for whatever she might try and do at this point. He couldn't say for sure that it was entirely externally influenced, but felt it was due to having not met Oona before today, and that was probably his best backup right now. Giving her a puzzled look instead of the worried or surprised look he could've shown, he was careful to think through just how he really wanted to reply.
"Fancy me eh? Not sure why, I'm just a run of the mill guy, always going to be," he said with a shrug. He was working hard on defensive strategies here, though there was some things he already figured he couldn't counter, such as actions done too quickly for him to catch on and prevent them. That meant he was going to have to at least try and be quick yet subtle about getting out of the way of anything.
