@edmund 237 <3 "Pft! You're the bad loser, not me!" Addilyn winked.
Addilyn looked up at Edmund and opened her eyes widely. She made a shocked face and blushed. "Oh! I'm sorry Edmund! I just," She giggled, "I get competitive. But yes, of course, we're working together, promise." She scooted over closer to him and smiled. "Your castle's look fantastic, though, E." Reaching over, she grabbed his hand and squeezed and then let go again. Giving him a light kiss on the cheek, she slyly grinned at him.
"No, not at all! A broom is beyond easier." Addilyn got excited when he started asking about Halloween and she put the sand castle items down. She criss crossed her legs and grinned at Ed. "Well, we'd put up orange and black and white colored lights, and fake spider webs with plastic spiders attached, and we also had scary witches, vampires, animals and everything! And my mom used to make music on this weird screen thingy and play it while we decorated and had friends over. Also, I've dressed up as almost everything! A devil, a witch, a bumblebee...but I think my favorite was the ... um, pulse ofsher? Something like that." Her face was red by the time she was done spitting all of this out. Taking a deep breath, she smiled, slightly embarrassed. "Why did your mum not think it was appropriate? It's so much fun! And we had fingers for food, eyeball punch, stuff like that."

Edmund just shrugged. It wasn't like he could really argue against being a bad loser. He hated losing.
He laughed when she realized she'd been competing. "It's no problem, I just didn't want you to blame me for not keeping my word and working together with you," he teased. She complimented the castle he'd been working on and he paused, leaning back a little as if trying to get a better glimpse, "You're right, it does look great." Then he glanced over at hers, Yours on the other hand ..." he trailed off, teasing her. He bent forward and worked some more on his castle, this time with Addi.
When she grabbed his hand and then kissed his cheek, he felt the excitement rise in him. He looked around quickly and when he saw no one nearby, he gave her a semi-serious look before teasing her, "Now come on Adds. Is that really all you're going to give me?"
He grinned when she put everything down so she could tell him about Halloween. It was adorable, the way she got enthusiastic about specific things and wouldn't multitask when one was involved. He put down the tools as well and turned to sit right in front of her, showing that she had his complete attention. Then she described all the things they did and it sounded fun. For a moment, he wished he could have experienced something like that during his childhood. He tried to imagine her in all the costumes she described, but it took him a few seconds to understand that she meant police officer. He laughed, unable to hold that in. It was funny to him when witches and wizards got so confused by muggle things. "Why was that one your favorite?" he asked, not repeating the name on purpose. He didn't want to embarrass her. Edmund shrugged at her question, "Oh, she didn't think it was appropriate for members of the royal family to be participating in a holiday that has so much to do with death and blood and horror. Maybe if she'd seen the way your family celebrated it, she would have let us try. Adds, that sounds like so much fun."

@edmund <3 Addilyn rose her eyebrows at Edmund's comment and her jaw dropped open slightly. How rude! "Edmund! That was not very nice! Now I'm tempted to kick yours over!" She smirked at him; Addi wasn't one to take his nonsense and she was able to joke right back with him. She happened to think her castle looked great... Even though the only one she has ever seen was Hogwarts.
She watched him glance around and his next comment got her heart racing. Her breathing became rushed and her face slightly pink. With a daring face, Addilyn reached forward with both hands and pushed Edmund. She jolted forward and used her hands to hold his wrists to the ground and she had both legs on either side of him. Grinning seductively, she winked. "Is this enough for you, E?" Not wanting him to get too excited, she gave him a long kiss then got off, blushing at what she just did.
Addi then got a wonderful idea. "Oh! Edmund you have to come to Halloween this year! Mum would love to meet you, everyone knows you, I talk about you all the time! And Claire knows Will, and Grey knows you, Susan and Lucy! It would be fun! We could dress up and you could help us cool and decorate!" She just hoped he'd be able to... Addi wasn't sure on how strict his mother was. "I liked it cause from what mum told me, they help people. And that's what I'm best at. I also looked pretty great in the costume."

Edmund loved the look on surprise on Addi's face when he teased her sometimes. A look of surprise, like she could hardly believe what he was saying. She always got control again quickly. He gave a short laugh, "Oh come on, Adds. You know I was just teasing. Your castle is almost as pretty as you are," he hoped he'd said enough to calm her down. That is, if she'd been serious about kicking it down in the first place. The next thing he knew, he was lying on his back and Addi was sitting on top of him, holding his hands on the ground before she asked him if this was what he wanted. Not exactly, was his first thought, but at the same time kind of liked it, other than the being held down part. Then she kissed him before sitting up, blushing furiously. "Definitely, Adds," he said as he sat up slowly, smiling widely at her. "We might want to focus on the castles though. That is, if you want to see what else I have planned for you tonight." He winked before turning his attention back to the castles in front of them. He leaned over and finished the last wall on his castle before turning his attention to Addi's, which was actually very nice, despite what he'd said earlier.
"That sounds great! I would love to go to Halloween with your family! Do you think they would let us leave Hogwarts though?" He asked curiously. He really loved the idea of seeing a Halloween party first-hand. And it would definitely be cool if he could bring Susan and Lucy. They'd know about the relationship by then, right? And he could meet Addi's family ... who apparently already knew a lot about him. "Wait, you've told your family about me?" He with a smile. Even though they'd only been friends before, she still talked about him to her family?

@edmund <3 She shook her head at Edmund. "Sure, sure you. But thanks for the compliment." Addi smiled back widely at him.
"Well mine are done! And you just finished yours, so what's next? Cause I definitely want to see what we're doing tonight, this is all so exciting!" When Edmund winked her heart began beating a mile a minute. He definitely didn't know the effect he had on her and what some of the things he did, did to her body. He was so handsome, so wonderful, so perfect and as she watched him add some final touches, she asked herself what in the world did she ever do to deserve him.
Addilyn scrunched up her face, not even thinking about that. "For the weekend, maybe? But you'd have to get special permission from your mum because you'd be coming to my house." She hoped they'd be able to go, Addi knew Ed would have such a great time, and they'd be able to get some more alone time without worrying about getting interrupted.
"Of course I've told them about you! You're my best friend E, they know lots of our stories and things we've done together."[/

He frowned slightly at her. Addi wasn't good at receiving compliments. From some of their past discussions, he was pretty sure that she had a somewhat low opinion of herself. Because of that, he had every intention of trying to build up her self-esteem. He reached out and put a hand on her shoulder, trying to convince her of his sincerity. "Adds, I mean it. You really are beautiful."
He looked over at her castle and, sure enough, it had been created by the blocks. Now came the fun part. He grinned with excitement. "Ok, now comes the competition Adds. Also, I've never done this before, so you can't say I have an unfair advantage," he couldn't help but tease, even before he fully explained what they were going to do. "Now we're going to use magic to add details to our castles. As you can see, the tubs that we used gave us a rudimentary, general outline of a castle, but now we get to personalize it. You can add staircases, windows, wildlife and plant-life, or whatever else you can think up to decorate. You can even include some of the surrounding sand as grounds on your castle to do with as you please. The one catch is I'm going to put this," with a wave of his wand, a small wooden wall formed between their two castles, "between our creations so that whatever we do is completely ours.
As they continued to talk, Edmund was excited for the idea of Halloween. Then a thought came to him. "Wait Adds. Isn't Halloween night the night they're going to announce who will be competing in the Triwizard Tournament? Would you want to be here for that? I don't want you missing out on the school fun for me ..." he offered. In all reality, he wanted to go see a Halloween party. However, at the same time, the Triwizard Tournament happened very infrequently. He wasn't sure if he wanted to miss that either.
Edmund gave a mischievous smile when she said she'd told her family all about him, "I hope it's good things. If not, I might get a talking to when they find out we're dating." A pang of guilt hit him, along with a hint of excitement. The only reason Susan knew about their friendship was because she'd been there for him during his and Addi's recent fight. No one else in his family probably knew who she was. On the other hand, he was dating Addi. Unofficially, but all the same they were dating and it should be official by Halloween.

@edmund 289 <3 She felt his hand on her shoulder and she looked up at him shyly. His compliments felt nice, but Addi didn't think she was that beautiful. Average was more like it, but she nodded her head all the less. "Thank you, E, really."
As Edmund spoke about what they were going to do with their sand castles next, Addilyn's smile got wider and wider. She grabbed her wand out of her back pocket and sat criss cross, watching as the wall finalized. Grinning widely at E, she nodded her head that she was ready. Addi began waving her wand, adding walkways, flower beds, windows, swings, a small pond with a bench, she even made a Quidditch Pitch and a pool. Her two castles were connected, and she then began adding smaller details to the castles themselves.
Addilyn thought for a moment about what Edmund said and she had an idea. "Yes! But I can just ask my mom to postpone it. Or, we could do it the 30th, which would be just as fun!" Addi did want to be here for the announcement, mostly to make sure Grey wasn't chosen, but also to see who was going to be chosen. It was a fun event, and she knew neither her nor Edmund would want to miss it.
She gave him a sad smile at his next comment. There was still a part of her that wondered if he was embarrassed of her. She didn't really understand why it would be such a big deal to just tell his siblings, but apparently he thought it was going to cause a huge fuss and she just didn't get it. Addi nodded her head. "No, not at all. It's always good things, E. Don't worry."

She thanked him, but something was off. He couldn't tell exactly what it was, but he noticed and tucked it away in the back of his mind. He wasn't going to forget, he just didn't want to push her during their date. Not when it was going so well.
When she realized the next step with his castle idea, her smile was incredible. Edmund was glad he'd come up with this. It was a cool combination of magic and not and with what he had planned for the end ... well, he had a feeling she would love it. He watched for a little while as she focused on her designs for her castles. He couldn't see what she was doing, but he was sure it would be fabulous. After a while, he turned to his castle and got to work. It wasn't a traditional castle, by any means. He wanted it to be more reminiscent of Hogwarts than of the castles he'd grown up in.
Using his wand to manipulate the sand, Edmund started by creating a moat around the wall that surrounded his castle. He made the moat appear as if it was filled with water, making sure to etch detailed designs so it would be easily recognizable as water. He created a drawbridge that was lowered, and even added little people and animals made of sand that were crossing the bridge, going in and out. Inside the walls, he had even more fun. He created staircases on the outside walls, windows on his castle. He made a garden with trees and other plants, as well as fountains. Basically he thought of everything he could to make it look like a magical place and added it in. "You done yet?" he asked Addi as he looked back at his castle critically. Was there anything else he should add?
He grinned as she came up with a solution. "Great! I would love to go, whenever your mom wants. I'll have to see if I can get permission from my mum, but I don't think it'll be too hard. What do you think about the Tournament?" he asked. Since the first night, he'd done a lot of studying about it and he was excited to see what would happen, even though he couldn't participate.
Something was wrong. Again. But he didn't know what it was. She was smiling, telling him that she'd always told her family good things about him, but there was a sort of melancholy there that he didn't expect. "Well I'm glad, but what's wrong?" he asked, not able to let it go this time. He wanted their date to be perfect, but he didn't want her to be sad. Was there anything he could do to help?

@edmund 246 <3 Addilyn glanced up at him, worried and shook her head. "No! Not yet." She grinned slightly and looked back down at her castle. She added a few fish into the pond, and added trees. Addi was so precise with everything that she'd probably never end up being done. But she had to eventually. She added a couple of dogs (her favorite breeds), owls around the castle, and even some muggle cars. She always enjoyed those things and thought they were cool, and she figured they'd be fun to use. "Okay...I think I'm done..." Her eyes glanced around, making sure she didn't miss anything.
"Of course! I'm so excited, I've got to send her an owl later then." Addilyn actually hadn't done any research, she had just asked around. And her brother had known a few things, but Addilyn had sent a letter to Claire telling her everything like she does every year, and she had sent her back with a lot of information and some words for Grey. Addi smiled at the memory. "I think it's going to be exciting. I'm just a bit nervous for the end, because of what happened when Mr. Potter was here." She had hoped nothing that bad would occur.
Addilyn shrugged at Edmund, shaking her head like there was nothing wrong. She gave a bit of a forced smile. "Nothing, honest. Just thinking about telling my family, whenever I can, is all." She had hoped that didn't sound as rude as it did in her head...

When Addi said she wasn't ready, Edmund looked back down at his castle. He created banners from the towers and added a herd of grazing horses outside the moat. He added more people inside the walls, along with animals like dogs and cats and a few owls (just for good measure). He liked his castle. It was ... him. It included all the things he loved best about magic and not. It seemed peaceful and he loved it. When she finally said she was done, Edmund grinned. With a flourish of his wand, he removed at the wall and moved to the other side of her so he could see the castle that she'd created. "Adds," he breathed as he stared in awe. She'd made two castles and combined them and her scene was enchanting. He leaned forward so he could see it closer, but he was careful not to bump it. She'd done amazingly.
He ginned at her, still in awe over her castle. "You do that and we'll see what we can figure out. Once you have your mom's permission, I'll ask mine." He reached over and took her hand, squeezing it gently, "And things aren't like they used to be Adds. We can't not enjoy ourselves because of things that might happen. We have to live now and not dwell too much on the past."
So that's what it was. She wanted to tell her family about them. The thing was, they were only on their first date and if Addi told her family, they might slip up to a member of his ... then again, probably not. Her family wasn't close with his. The problem was, his family knew nothing of his life. They'd never heard of any of his friends. They didn't know what he liked to do with his time or even what subjects he preferred over others. The only thing they really knew about him was that he liked flying and that was because he was on the Quidditch team. If he just came out and told them he had a girlfriend, there would be repercussions. But ... Addi. He didn't want to hurt her and he was. He sighed, "Well ... if you did tell your family, would they be able to keep it a secret until I can tell mine? I just ... I have to figure out a way to tell them," he responded hesitantly. He just wasn't used to confiding in anyone but Addi. But if she said they could keep it a secret ...

@edmund 197 <3 When he removed the wall and he stared at hers, she stared at his. Goodness, his was beautiful! And he had added so many things she didn't even think of, mostly because she isn't used to castles and what is inside of them. For this reason, she only really did the outside of the castle. She was jealous he knew what it was like. Addi leaned forward and looked at Edmund's, and inside of it. It was wonderful, and she loved the draw bridge he added.
"Okay! She should answer as soon as possible, she loves getting owls from us." Addilyn laughed. She felt Edmund grab her hand and when he spoke she watched him. She looked down at their hands and she nodded her head slowly.
"So why can't we enjoy ourselves no matter what your family thinks?" She didn't dare look up at him. She didn't want him to be offended...but she just wanted the truth. Was he embarrassed of her? "But no...the only person that is here is Grey. I know my parent's won't say anything, but my mum probably knows who your family is as she's muggleborn. But I don't think Grey would go off telling Susan."

After a few minutes, Ed tore his eyes away from her astounding castles. "That sounds great!" Edmund answered, truly excited at the idea of seeing a Halloween party and meeting her family at the same time. Hopefully he would get along with them as well as he got along with Addi ...
With their castles done, Edmund was ready for the next part of the date, but he couldn't very well start it when Addi wasn't happy with him. He had to finish this conversation with her and then they could move on. He turned so he was facing her, wishing that she would look up at him instead of staring at their hands. "We are enjoying ourselves, Adds," he told her softly. How could he make her understand? "It's just, they don't know anything about me. I mean it. After one month of being here with you first year, you knew me better than they did; there was really no competition. Now it's five years later and I'm starting to build relationships with my sisters, but not only do they not know me, I don't know them. I don't know how Susan would react to finding out that I'm dating someone and I don't want her to freak out or get mad at me or you just out of shock. I want to ease her into it." He frowned as his thoughts took a different turn. "I know how Will would react. He'd just get after me and tell me I don't know what I'm doing. I need to have someone there who understands me when I tell him. Does that make any sense?" Edmund reached forward with his free hand, touching Addi's chin gently as he tried to raise it so he could look in her eyes. "You mean more to me than I can say and I don't want my family's reaction to our dating- whatever that may be- to hurt you because I'm not close with them and they didn't expect it." he searched her eyes, inwardly begging her to understand.

@edmund 125 <3 Addilyn felt him turn next to her, but she didn't move. Not her body or her eyes. And as he spoke, her heart broke a little bit for him. And at the same time, her feelings grew. She couldn't even explain how much she liked Edmund, how happy she was to be with him and that she never wants to be away from him. She took a deep breath. His hand rested on her face to lift her head up to look at him, and her green eyes did just that. She could see the desperateness in his eyes, and her heart broke. A tear fell and Addilyn nodded her head. "I understand, Edmund...I'm sorry...I just didn't get it before and I thought you were embarrassed by me..."

Edmund watched her expressions, noticed when understanding took over and exhaled in relief, giving her a short smile. "Adds, I would never be embarrassed by you. You're amazing and beautiful and ..." he hesitated a moment. Would she think he was being cheesy? "And the one person who knows the real me. You know me better than anyone else and I wouldn't have it any other way. Don't be sorry. I just ... want you to understand why it's hard for me to tell them. I will though, it'll just take time. Please be patient with me." He leaned forward and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek.
He smiled brightly at her and winked, "Are you ready for the next part of today's adventure?" He hoped she'd let go of the sad feelings. Today was going wonderfully and it was just going to get better.

@edmund 131 <3 Addilyn gave him a small smile back. As he was speaking, she blushed slightly. Addi wasn't one to believe compliments, no matter how many of them she took. And with Edmund, they were usually constant and every time they saw one another. It wasn't a bad thing, but Addilyn usually didn't believe most of the things he said. "Thank you, Edmund. I'll...I'll be patient, promise." She felt the soft kiss on her cheek and she leaned into him, loving the warmth and smell of his body. She breathed in deeply. "I wish I had a candle of your scent...you always smell so good."
Seeing him wink at her made her a bit happier. A small smirk escaped and she looked at him, the smirk growing into a smile. "We're going on an adventure, now?"
