She understood. The relief he felt was almost tangible, it was so strong. He'd been so worried that she wouldn't get it, or that she'd think his reasons were just an excuse. But she didn't. She believed him. "Thank you," he shot her a quick smile, chuckling at her next comment. What was so good about the way he smelled? He didn't really do anything special now that he hadn't done before and she'd never mentioned that before this year.
Then she smiled and he sensed that she was ready. This next part was going to be fun. "Hasn't everything been an adventure so far?" he teased before pointing to a tree a little ways away. "Go look behind that tree," he suggested as he stood up and tugged her hand, trying to help her to her feet too. He'd told her to wear clothes she didn't mind getting dirty for a reason. They were going to have a water balloon fight. This was another thing he'd done with his father as a child. Only, like the sandcastles, Edmund improved the idea a bit. Instead of the balloons just being filled with water, they were filled with all kinds of liquids. Water, paint, soap, mud. Basically any type of liquid he could think of. He just wanted to mess around with her. Behind the tree, she would find a trunk full of the balloons. There was another one nearby, for Ed to use. He might be going over the top, but oh well.

@edmund 202 Wet t-shirt contest! Bahahaha <3 Addilyn nodded. She couldn't help it. She hadn't mentioned it before this year because she hadn't felt those feelings for Edmund until now, Addi wouldn't have said it before because it would've sounded like she liked him. And that may not have been good for their friendship. But now, everything was different. A good different, one she liked and didn't want to end.
Ed tugged her up and Addilyn stood. She brushed off the back of her jeans and gave him a look when he told her to go check behind the tree. Addilyn let go of his hand and walked over, grabbed the tree and peered behind it. It was a tote...with, water balloons? She stood up straight, looked a few feet away over at Edmund and rose her eyebrow at him. She turned again and went behind the tree where he couldn't see her. She grinned as she glanced over the balloons. They weren't just water. And the best part? They both had white shirts on. Addi picked one up that was filled with water and giggled quietly. Peeking out, she saw him waiting.
Addilyn jumped out from behind the tree and threw it right at his chest, smiling widely.

Edmund smiled when Addi walked over to look behind the tree ... until he remembered his plan. He quickly summoned the other trunk he had hidden and then turned to the castles. As quickly as he could, he transfigured the two into glass and then shrunk them down until they were about the size of a softball. They were gorgeous, even more so because of all the now-tiny details that had been added on. Glancing at Addi- who was still looking behind the tree- he quickly moved the now-glass castles into a special compartment on the trunk for safekeeping. He exhaled in relief at his success- she didn't know what he'd done!
Then splat! He looked down at himself in surprise when he felt the water balloon hit him."Oh, you asked for it now, Adds!" He shouted with a wide grin. The battle was on! Picking up two water balloons hand, he threw them at her in rapid succession. Then, while her attention was hopefully on the balloons zooming toward her, he quickly cast a spell on another one (full of green paint) to levitate it toward where she was. Hopefully he could get it to fall right on her head before she even noticed it was coming. He knew she'd like this part of their date.

@edmund <3 Addilyn heard him shout at her and she began giggling quite a bit. She ran back around the tree to glance at all of the balloons. One looked like water, but it had bubbles in it... Soap? She shook her head. Edmund was such a goofball, but this was such a fun date. Taking a balloon with soap in one hand, and a balloon with red paint in the other, she held them behind her back and ran towards Ed. She threw the paint balloon first, it hitting him on the shoulder. Then the soap balloon hit him square in the chest. "Ha! Got you!"

This really was war. Somehow, she'd dodged the balloons he'd thrown at her and was, at the moment, unscathed. Not for long. As she ran at him with two balloons in her hands, he let his levitating ball drop. And of all the places it could have landed, it landed right on her head. Edmund burst out laughing, not able to stop even when she hit his shoulder and chest with other balloons. "You should see the look on your face!" He called out, unable to hold it in and not wanting to. He grabbed a couple more, hitting her on the hip with a mud-filled one, and then again on the shoulder with a ... soapy one? He couldn't tell if it was soap or water, but this was a blast! He grabbed one with blue paint and lobbed it at her feet. Maybe if he tripped her, he could tackle her and then summon balloons to hit her with. He started running at her after grabbing two more, hoping she'd tripped. If not, maybe he'd tackle her anyway.

@edmund <3 Oh. There it was. One of Edmund's balloons somehow fell right on top of her head, and it happened to be one filled with green paint. Thankfully she had her hair up. Addi wiped her face, her jaw open wide. He was having a great time laughing his head off and Addi growled, running back to her balloons. She immediately just started lodging them; mud, water, blue paint, soap, mud, mud. Then Addilyn grabbed another one filled with mud, giggled loudly and started chasing Edmund, ready to smack this one right on top of his hair.

Oh, she was mad. Well not really mad, but mad enough that she wanted to get him back. He kept on laughing, unable to really stop. Then she started chucking balloons at him like a mad woman and he decided to take drastic measures. Mostly, he just wanted to be annoying. He started using magic. One by one, he changed the direction of the balloons filled with all sorts of stuff and sent them flying right back at Addi. She was being good, not using magic. He didn't care. Eventually she started chasing him around. He ran for a minute, then started summoning water balloons and tossing them over his shoulder, hopefully hitting her in the process. "Are any of these getting you?" he shouted over his shoulder.

@edmund <3 Ugh! How rude! He wasn't even using his hands! Addilyn stopped chasing him and just glared. "What? I'm not telling you! You're cheating, why would I tell you that?" Addi ran to her bucket and giggled. She grabbed her wand and levitated ten balloons. Now it was on. Peeking behind the tree she saw Edmund running, so she cast the balloons to all hit him at once. She jumped out. "Haha!"

Edmund laughed when she got angry that he was using magic. He figured it was going to happen sooner or later. He looked over his shoulder to see she was running back to the place where all her water balloons were. He smiled mischievously. Apparently he'd brought out the fighter in her. He liked this side of her, but at the same time he was determined not to lose. She was practically covered and he thought he was definitely less dirty. He looked down at himself and nodded. Yup. Less dirty. And his whole goal was to keep it that way. He didn't care what he had to do, he was going to win.
She hid behind the tree and Ed walked over to his water balloons, not even bothering to hide. Why should he? He knew exactly what he was going to do. He started levitating balloons and firing them at her with his wand. After a second he saw the barrage of balloons headed his way. He waited until they'd almost reached them, then muttered, "Protego." As he thought, the shield worked and the balloons broke when they came into contact with it. There was a little splatter that made it onto him, but not much at all.
"Did you see that?" he shouted triumphantly as he continued to hurl balloons toward her. Hopefully she didn't realize what spell he'd used ...

@edmund <3 Addilyn watched as all of her balloons just broke on nothing. Her eyes narrowed at Edmund. Gosh, he's used the shield spell! Oh it was ON. Addi whispered, "Protego." around the tree herself. She smirked. It wasn't going to be easy anymore! She ignored his question, thinking of a way to get him over here so she could get him dirty.
Addilyn grinned. It was mean, but oh well. She'd win! Addi walked out from behind the tree with a paint balloon. She tripped over a branch from the tree and made a grunting noise. "Ugh! Ouch..." Addi grinned, but quickly made a face of pain before Edmund could see the smile. She held her knee, her eyes shut.

Edmund threw a balloon full of sludge and watched it break before it came close to her. So ... she had figured out what spell he used. Which meant, she was going to be trying to figure out a way to get him back. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to guess what she was going to do. Before she came out from behind the tree, he hurried and moved behind a couple of bushes. From his hiding spot, he could see her clearly, but she shouldn't be able to see him. In fact, he had a pretty good wall of trees and bushes going both ways from the bush he'd originally jumped behind. Whatever she was going to do to try and get him, Edmund was ready.
Then she came out from behind the tree, all covered in mud and paint and soap and he couldn't help from grinning at the sight of her. She looked adorable when she was dirty. He almost laughed, but held it in. Then she tripped. Something about it seemed weird, but at the sound of her crying out, he froze before moving to get up and go to her. Unfortunately, his shirt had snagged on some thorns in the bush behind him and he couldn't get up. Also, the snag was right in the spot in the middle of the back where he couldn't reach it without help. Knowing that struggling too much could make something like this worse, Edmund moved slowly and carefully. If someone had been walking by those bushes, they wouldn't have noticed he was there, trying to free himself. Unless he called out for help, that was. Which he wouldn't. Edmund could take care of himself.
Concerned, he looked over to Addi. Was she ok? Wait, she was holding her knee. Why would she be holding her knee when she tripped? He replayed the scene in his mind and it made little sense. Hurting her ankle he could understand, but her knee? Suspicion crept into his mind. Was she- could she be faking? Using magic, he made his voice seem like it was coming from behind a tree that was at least twenty feet away and said, "Adds, are you alright? What happened?" He watched her carefully, curious to see how she'd react. Was this real or was she just trying to win? A part of him felt guilty for being suspicious of her like this, but ... he was stuck. It might not have been a good excuse but it was the truth.

@edmund He could just take off his shirt hehe Addilyn opened her eyes, still holding her knee. She glanced around and literally could not see Edmund anywhere to be found. She made a weird face and tried to look around without moving her body.
Maybe he knew she was trying to get him to come over... Or maybe he didn't. Either way, she'd still try to play her cards right. "I tripped over a root and hurt my knee!"[//b] She yelled back out, not sure if she heard him or not.

Something was off. Edmund was almost certain that he wasn't imagining it now. He couldn't tell what it was, but he had a sneaking suspicion. Still projecting his voice like it was coming from the tree, he answered her, "How did you hurt your knee? I saw that fall ..." He trailed off, hoping he could get her to give something away. He noticed her looking around, but that didn't mean she was faking. She was probably trying to figure out why he hadn't come to her. It was then that he realized this whole situation was very out of character for him. Edmund always rushed to her side when she was hurt. Was she expecting that? He decided to give an explanation just in case she really was hurt. He didn't want her to think he didn't care. "Sorry, I'm sort of stuck at the moment." He tacked on casually, still watching her.

@edmund <3 "It felt a little twisted when I tripped." She could tell Edmund probably knew she was faking and she growled quietly to herself. Addi scooted her way back behind the tree. Once she figured she was out of sight from Ed she stood up, trying to find him. He said he was stuck ? Her eyebrows furrowed together and she grabbed a few balloons. Slowly walking out from behind the tree, she started walking towards where his balloons where, hoping he couldn't see her.

As soon as he said he was stuck, Edmund reached back with his wand and mumbled, "Diffindo," pointing it where the offending branch must be. He smiled to himself when he realized he was free. He looked forward at Addi's words, staring when he saw she was scooting backwards. Oh, so that's how she was playing, was it? He grinned, determined to keep up the charade of being in the tree. He pointed to his trunk with his wand and soon two balloons were flying up into the tree. This was going to be fun.
"Where are you going Adds?" he projected his voice from the tree once more as he shot a balloon at her. She was moving toward his stash of balloons, so he couldn't help it. Add in the fact that she was clearly fine and he was going to show no mercy. He could hardly believe she'd tried to trick him. Oh well, all's fair in love and war. He got another two balloons up in the tree before flicking the other one up there at Addi as well. "I thought your knee was hurt," he said, making his voice curious and surprised.
