Adonia had just kept dancing and having a grand old time as people started arriving. She was starting to get thirsty, but she'd worry about that later. For now,s he was just having the time of her life. She heard someone speak nearby and her eyes landed on the girl, who had a cup in her hand. "Fun is the bread of life, my dear! May I?" she asked, not waiting for the girl to answer before reaching over and gently tipping the cup to her mouth to sip some. She didn't take the cup from Roxy, just tipped the cup with the tip of her pointer finger put her lips in the appropriate place to drink some.
Then she straightened up and just swayed her hips for a moment, cocking her head to the side. "And you are? Besides beautiful, I mean. Like, a name?" she grinned. The girl was seriously stunning, and Adonnia appreciated pretty people.

Jamie smirked a little when Liona said that she was still trying to learn her. “What, were thousands of words not enough to learn me?” She teased. The Hufflepuff knew what the Slytherin meant, though. How someone wrote didn’t necessarily say a lot about how they spoke, or behaved, or smiled, or frowned… or danced. Liona had learned a lot of Jamie’s thoughts and attitudes through the letters, but she was learning everything else through their meetings in person. Jamie was doing the same. Liona appeared to be looking around the room, and Jamie wondered why the other girl wasn’t focusing. Then again, Jamie sometimes had issues with focus, especially with so many people around. “I’m not sure I know how to dance to this kind of music.” Jamie admitted. She had only performed so well in her meeting with Liona because she had done it a hundred thousand times before. Having to make up movements on the fly, in front of a dozen other people, sounded like a less pleasant prospect. “I’ll watch you.” Jamie suggested.

Roxy had supposed that giraffe girl would be having fun, but she hadn't expected her to steal a sip of her drink - which Roxy was still holding. Roxy raised her eyebrows, impressed. At least she'd had a good sip of it beforehand.
Roxy kept up her dancing and took her own sip of punch as the girl offered her a compliment and asked her name. Roxy smiled into her cup, but it was a little closer to a smirk when she answered. "I'm Roxy, and I think the price I'll charge for stealing some of my drink is your name," she said, eyes sparkling with amusement.

At his reply, Madison just smirked abck and said "yeah you do, but then again this isn't the strangest place in Hogwarts" clearly thinking of a few other places. But then again she was sure he would understand at least one place she was thinking of. As he reminded her about the secrecy, she pointed around and said "I don't think anyone heard us here". And just as she said it, a few of them joined then at the table which caused Madison to gve a sheepish smile as she said "uhmm yeah, I just jinxed it, may be I should've not said that". As he asked about her, she nodded and said "while the party just got started, I am enjoying it. But then again parties are always my favorite" she said with a smile.
Nodding to the punch, she asked "wanna have some?"as she herself got a glass from the bowl which was spiked. She did not even know that it was spiked and what ever happens next she was not to blame. She took a sip from the glass and smiled, liking the taste of it which seemed a bit familiar to her but she couldn't pinpoint it. But then again what was the use when she could just enjoy. And just as the music changed into her favorite number, Madi drowned her glass of punch in a single gulp and looking at Daniel and extending her hand towards him she asked "dance with me?"

Adonia cocked her head to the side as Roxy named her price for Adonia taking that sip of her drink. Doni ginned taking a step closer to the girl and keeping our eyes locked on hers. "The names Adonia," she said sweetly. "But you can call me Doni," she finished. She lifted her hand and gently touched the rim of the cup with her finger then slid her finger around the circular top as if she was playing music on crystal glass. "And I think you should finish that drink," she said sweetly, her voice low, "so that you and I can have a little dance?"

Daniel just returned a smirk as Madison stated that this wasn't even the weirdest place in Hogwarts. "Well from what I hear, this room changes into whatever someone might want. So it could be the strangest place of all if the right person came along." Daniel laughed for a second as he hadn't actually seen this room in any other setting than this so he wouldn't know. "Besides I imagine I'll be seeing whatever the strangest places are on the school tour." Daniel brought up the tour Madison wanted to give him for a second before moving on to joking about what she said. She claimed no one heard her and followed by people showing up and Madison saying she jinxed herself. "I'll forgive you this time but keep this up and I'll have to get Moaning Myrtle on you." Daniel teased her slightly, he neither had that power nor wished that fate on anyone.
Daniel shrugged slightly as Madison asked him if he wanted a drink. It was part of the reason he was standing here before he had started debating leaving. "Well how can I refuse such an offer?" Daniel replied and got a drink after Madison got hers from the same bowl, unaware it was spiked even as he took a sip. It tasted off to Daniel but he couldn't place why, deciding it was probably just a type of punch he hadn't had before. The music changed beat to something else and Madison seemed a little excited as she downed the rest of her punch and proceed to hold out her hand asking him to dance. Normally an offer he would have turned down by most if not anyone here but what was the alternative, stand here or leave the party. With that he took her hand and shrugged slightly and said with slight sarcasm, "I'd be honored." As he downed what was left in his glass rather than waste it or leave what was left unattended.

The few people who made their way to the party as she stood there were neither Georgie nor her brother, and Max was beginning to lose hope that they were coming. She was certain that Lily had invited the entire school, plus the students from the two visiting schools, so that wasn't the problem. It was just frustrating that—out of all of those people—the one or two (counting Lance) whom she really cared to see didn't appear to be attending at all. It figured, she thought, that that would be her luck. (There was no sign of Louis, either, so that hope was dashed, too.)
Sighing, Max looked again, as though thinking about the people she wanted there might summon them to her. It was worth one last try, at least, before she gave up and went inside the Room of Requirement along with everyone else.
With no Linleys or a Louis to be found, Max entered the room. The party had been going on for a little while, and everyone seemed to have found someone to talk to. Without being able to say the same, she immediately made her way over to the punch bowl, which seemed like a safe bet.
Max poured herself a cup of the punch and took a sip, oblivious to the fact that it had been spiked with alcohol. There was something about it that did taste strange to her, though; she could tell that much, nearly spitting it back into the cup because it was so vile but swallowing it in spite of herself. Looking at the two students who were still standing there, cups in hand, she grimaced. “Do either of you know what's in this?” she asked, motioning to the cup so that she could be understood over the music. She hoped that they did, since they were drinking it, too.

Sav watched as several other students came over and filled up cups. A few of them seemed to wonder what was in it, however, not every seemed to care. He acknowledged Anna as she poured herself a drink, and Roxy right after her cousin, offering her cheers back before taking a drink. He was quite proud of himself and it showed on the smirk on his lips. He knew if he was caught he'd be in trouble, likely more by his mum than anyone else, but it was worth the risk, it was fun. Madi came over and he watched her out of the corner of his eye as she poured a glass and finished it right away, he knew there was a reason they got along so well. She walked over to another Gryffindor boy that Sav knew but wasn't very close with and asked if he wanted to dance and Daniel accepted her offer. He found himself maybe a little jealous. Maybe he wanted to dance?
Sav was jerked out of his thoughts when another girl approached them, one he had only ever seen around but never really spoke to. She asked if they knew what was in the punch and Sav smirked, "I would guess quite a bit of Firewhisky." he told her with a quick wink. He turned back to Jessie and asked, "you wannah dance?" with a gesture of his head towards the dance floor.

“I would guess quite a bit of firewhisky,” said the boy, whom Max only then recognized as being one of Madam Macmillan's sons. That explained why the punch had tasted so horrid to her. (And, the way the Macmillan boy winked at her, she was sure that he'd been the one to spike it, too.) At least he was transparent about it—and he seemed too proud of himself to be lying to her.
“Thanks,” Max replied, though grateful for his addition she was not. Safe in the knowledge that at least he hadn't put any sort of potion in the drink, though, she took another small sip.
The taste hadn't gotten any better that second time around, so, stepping away from the table, Max looked around for somewhere to rid herself of the cup, which was still relatively full of spiked punch. If Jamie hadn't gone out on the dance floor, she considered offering it to her; at least she was of legal age to be drinking it in the first place.

"Thousands of words sounds about right," Liona chuckled and teased back. Tens of thousands of words was probably more accurate. She'd spent quick a bit of time writing Jamie and the length of parchment it took to write everything down had grown enormously since their first short letter. She didn't regret any of it though. When Jamie commented on not knowing how to dance to this type of music, Liona was a little surprised."You're telling me you haven't been to one common room party? Or you didn't go to Lily's last party," she asked through her amusement. Truthfully, Liona hadn't really danced to this type of music herself but she'd been to enough common room parties where they'd played music like the current selection to at least be able to mimic some of the girls' motions. It required a bit of swaying and it was nothing like she'd learned professionally but she was up for the challenge. Looking around the party again she saw a few other girls on the dance floor, minus the interesting dancer, who were dancing similarly to what she'd seen so she knew she was on the right track. "It's simple enough," she walked out onto the dance floor and she began. The music was pulsing and she felt the rhythm make her move. She swayed her hips and closed her eyes, moving easily to the beat. It didn't feel unnatural, she didn't feel like she was making a fool of herself, so she continued, opening her eyes and grinning at Jamie.

Riley Fudge walked into the room of requirement after having heard about the party from some friends of his who were going. It sounded like a good time. As an extrovert, he was always interested in a situation in which there would be tons of human interaction. It was also a great opportunity to do some research, he had never really seen how students interacted in a real party environment. The Yule Ball had been as close as he had been able to get, and even that was a little more formal and proper than he knew this gathering would be. The Ravenclaw was far from the first to arrive. There were already people on the dance floor, there were people talking in clumps and pairs, and there were people who were hovering near the punch bowl. He took interest in that and went over to investigate, feeling a little parched himself. Right away upon inspection he could tell it was laced with alcohol, the cooling was off compared to another one by it and you could see the two liquids beginning to separate from not having been stirred recently. Riley hadn't done much drinking before, but he decided since it was part of the event, he would partake. He served himself a cup and took a sip, it wasn't bad actually. The Ravenclaw began to wander a bit, not seeing anyone he really knew, however seeing many he recognized.

Spotting Riley Fudge enter the party, Max was somewhat relieved to see that he didn't appear to have anyone to talk to from the get-go, either. Before she could offer him the remainder of her punch, however, she saw that he had gone ahead and ladled a cup for himself.
So much for pawning off her alcoholic punch onto someone who might have found it enjoyable, Max lamented internally, deciding to at least approach the older Ravenclaw since it didn't appear that he was looking for anyone—just scoping things out.
Catching up to Riley wasn't particularly difficult; it just involved weaving her way around a few other people and trying not to spill her punch. By the time that she had gotten the idea to vanish the cup entirely, she had already neared Riley and guessed that he would find her odd for vanishing a perfectly good cup and its contents.
“Hi, Riley,” she said casually. It wasn't as she didn't know his sister, but Max had to question if she had ever actually spoken to Riley himself before.

Riley was a little surprised when someone approached him, just because he assumed that everyone had someone to talk to by now. He began to feel like he had come a little too late to have caught the start of it all and maybe was a little too late to be fashionable. "Hey, Max, right?" he asked. She was in the same year and house as his younger sister and if he recalled correctly the two were decent friends. "How are you? Enjoying the party?" he asked, a little loudly to make sure she could hear him over the music. He noticed the full cup in her hand and let a small smirk spread across his lips, she didn't like the alcohol in the punch, he didn't blame her. He didn't want his sister to be drinking it either, which he knew was very hypocritical because he was drinking it, but he was of age. "Did you just fill up?" he asked, nodding to her full cup before taking a drink of his own. While his talents weren't necessarily a secret, he didn't like to make people feel weird or awkward with them, not often at least.

Max hadn't considered that Riley might not have known her name, but she was grateful that he hadn't thought it was something else and she hadn't had to correct him—or worse, go along with some name that wasn't her own for the rest of the night or until someone else was less inhibited and willing to make the correction for her.
“Yeah,” she nodded, affirming that her name was her name.
“How are you?” Riley asked her. “Enjoying the party?”
It wasn't the worst thing to which she'd ever subjected herself, Max thought, and it could have been a lot worse than it was—not that she regularly went to parties to experience anything too outrageous, but she had heard stories. Considering that, she nodded. “Yeah,” she replied to Riley. “It's not bad,” and everyone else seemed to be having a good time.
“Did you just fill up?”
“Er…” Max began, hoping that Riley hadn't heard her having to think about that. “Yeah,” she answered, nodding and giving him a smile that she hoped looked genuine as she took another sip from her cup. “You?” As if she hadn't just watched him get his own cup of punch.

Of course, Riley caught her hesitation and understood it perfectly himself. He didn't blame her, there was a lot of pressure in these situations to drink and dance and do things that one normally wouldn't do or maybe didn't want to do. He was never a fan of peer-pressure but he normally went along with it, not out of the fear of not fitting in, but more for the experience and understanding that everyone went through. He very much enjoyed throwing himself into certain situations in the name of research and normally it yielded him much better results than just observing from the outside. "It seems pretty lively." he nodded. "Why aren't you dancing or something? Did my sister not want to tag along with you?" he asked, making polite conversation. "Uh, sort of, you wouldn't tell by looking at it though." he laughed, his cup was now visibly closer to the halfway point that full, but he didn't mind it. He had a sharp mind, not that the alcohol wouldn't effect him eventually, but for now he knew he was still in the clear.
