Rosie was supposed to have returned home 4 days ago. She had been completely missing in action for the last few days and she had no idea what the people who knew she was missing thought. Which was why her first thought was Brandon. It didn’t hurt that he was one of the few people that she trusted with literally everything and could be real with.
Rosie hurried off the plane when they got to London and she ran to the airport. With her luggage lost in Russia, she bought a severely oversized hoodie and sunglasses at a way overpriced gift stand and put them on before she walked out into the sunlight. The covering helped, but she still hated being out there. She quickly jumped into a taxi and instructed the driver to take her to Brandon’s apartment. At her destination, she paid the fare and jumped out, running up the steps and into the building where she began to pound on the door.

Brandon slept like the dead. For the past four days, he spent almost all his time searching for Rosie. The thing was, they were supposed to go on a date the day she returned from her trip, but she'd never shown up. At first he thought her flight was just delayed or something or that she was tired and went home to sleep after her return. So he let her be for the night, but went to her house the next morning and she wasn't there. He checked her flight number and it arrived like it was supposed to. So where was she? He spent the next few days searching. He tried to find where she'd gone once returning from Russia. He'd checked the Daily Prophet, reached out to some of her friends even, but apparently no one had seen her. He was starting to think that she'd never come back, which meant something must have happened. She wouldn't have stayed there without telling him, not on purpose. It got to the point where he was planning to find a flight to Russia the next day so he could search for her. He couldn't imagine what would keep her there. Brandon was so exhausted from all his searching that he didn't awake when the pounding began. It took about half a minute or so before he noticed the sound and realized that whoever it was wouldn't be going away any time soon. Brandon groaned, rising to his feet and making his way to the door, his eyes half closed. "I'm coming," he moaned, unlocking the door and opening it, struggling to keep his eyes open. He blinked in the sunlight and then recognized her. "Rosie," Brandon breathed before grabbing her arms and pulling her close for a tight hug. "I was so worried," he muttered, pulling her inside the house, closing the door behind her and holding her, nuzzling her hair with his chin. rose harriet granger-weasley

It took a minute for brandon to come to the door, but Rosie knew that he was inside his apartment. It was too early in the morning still for him to be up and doing stuff unless he had something to do that required him to already be up, which she knew wasn’t usually the case. As soon as he saw who was standing at his doorstep, he pulled her into his arms, breathing out her name as he pulled her into the apartment and out of the sunlight. It was still bright in here, but there was a small relief that came from being out of the direct light. She wanted to feel relief now that she was home and he was hugging her, however, she couldn’t help but notice that he smelled so good. But not in a way in which she had ever notice. She shuttered when she realized what she was sensing from him. “Hi.” she said through clenched teeth. Happy to see him but still extremely uncomfortable.

Rosie stepped in, not pulling away or anything when he hugged her, which Brandon was glad for. He couldn't imagine what happened the last couple of days, why she'd disappeared so entirely, but now that she was back he definitely planned on figuring it out. He felt her body tense and Brandon pulled away after a moment, looking down at her. She seemed ... upset. "Rosie ... where have you been? I've been searching for you for days?" he asked, reaching forward to play with a lock of her hair as he stared at her. She looked okay, just like normal, though there was something different. He just couldn't put his finger on it. "Here, let's go in the other room and sit down, then we can talk. Do you need anything to eat?" Brandon asked, taking her hand and leading her to the other room. rose harriet granger-weasley

He was asking so many questions and lead her into the other room. He had told her that he had been searching for her for days and her heart dropped. She hadn’t wanted people to worry about her, but she also hadn’t taken this detour on purpose. She had no control over what had happened to her. Rosie began to feel annoyed and frustrated by his questions, even though they had just started and she knew that they were coming from a place of concern. She didn’t sit down, but she did slowly take off her sunglasses. Her skin was much paler than normal, but she hadn’t had a chance to see herself yet and was still blissfully unaware of that physical change. She shook her head at his invitation of something to eat. She didn’t feel hungry. At least not for the kind of food that he was offering. She was still confused as to how to obtain the thing she craved. “Brandon I think something’s happened…” she said instead.

Rosie didn't answer his questions. It really wasn't that big of a surprise, and Brandon hardly noticed. He was too focused on her, on her facial expressions. The worried furrow of her eyebrows, the way she was hardly looking at him. What happened? What was wrong? He almost asked again, but he didn't want to push her. She didn't sit down when they got in the other room, instead just taking off her sunglasses slowly. She looked so pale. Brandon's heart raced as he waited for her to say something, anything. He bit his lip to keep himself quiet, waiting. When she finally spoke, he frowned, his own eyebrows furrowing now. "D'you want to talk about it?" he asked, not really sure if she did. Wouldn't she have already started if she wanted to explain things? Or have answered his other questions? Brandon didn't know. He was too confused. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie used to love how sweet and gentle Brandon was, but right now, him beating around the bush and not asking questions was annoying her. She wanted to tell him what she thought was happening but she didn’t know how to say it. She couldn't come right out and say that she was a vampire, could she? She wasn’t even completely sure that she was a vampire… except for the fact that it was obvious. But was it? She had never been a vampire before, she had no idea what was normal or what it felt like to be a vampire. “No Brandon I brought it up so I could continue not to say anything.” she growled, completely frustrated by him in the moment, but then instantly she realized what she had done and she sighed, covering her face with her hands and sighing. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell at you.” she admitted. “I just...I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what’s going on…” she sat down on the edge of the sofa, her face still in her hands.

Brandon was entirely taken aback by his girlfriend's attitude. First, she completely ignored his questions about what happened and where she'd been. Then she said she thought something happened, but Brandon didn't know what she wanted him to do. Did she want to talk about it, or was she not answering his questions because she didn't want to talk about it. She growled at him and he stared, completely flabbergasted. He opened his mouth to answer her, but no words came. He had no idea what to say to her like this. Then she was apologizing, saying she didn't mean to yell at him as she sat down. "Hey," Brandon tried to answer in a calming voice, reaching to wrap an arm around her shoulders. "Hey, it's okay Rosie. Whatever is going on we'll figure it out together. You just ... need to tell me what happened. Please?" His voice was soft, encouraging. He wanted to help Rosie more than anything in the world, but he didn't know how. Not with her attitude right now. Hopefully she'd snap out of it and tell him what was going on. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie felt like a horrible person. Maybe she was a horrible person. Maybe she wasn’t even a person anymore. Maybe she was a monster. She certainly felt like one. Brandon was so nice and so helpful and he didn’t deserve the way that she was treating him. He didn’t deserve to have a vampire as a girlfriend. Even now, after she had snapped at him, he was being nice and sympathetic, he wrapped his arm around her to comfort her but all she could focus on in that moment was the way he smelled. The way that his blood smelled. She heard him speak but it was all muffled and blurred in her mind. The words were just founds as her eyes locked in on an exposed chunk of his neck. Before she knew what she was doing, her teeth were sinking into his skin and she felt an instant satisfaction as the blood danced on her tongue. But within seconds the realization hit her and she pulled away, standing up and quickly moving to the other side of the room. What had she just done?! She was a monster!

Rosie wasn't saying anything and Brandon was getting more and more worried about his girlfriend. What in the world happened to her? Why wouldn't she tell him? He was about to ask her again, see if he could convince her to tell him when she was leaning in. Maybe she was tired and just wanted to relax. Then she was biting him. He tensed at the initial pain, but it faded almost instantly, and then she was on the other side of the room. Brandon blinked. She was a vampire. He rose to his feet, watching her as his heart broke for her. How did this happen. "Rosie, hey," he tried to soothe from across the room. He could see the look of horror on her face. "Come here, please. It's okay, just come back and we'll figure this out." His voice was calm as he tried to ... well, he didn't know what he wanted to do. He was worried for her. He didn't want Rosie to bold. He was nervous that if she did he'd never see her again. Yes, he needed to sort through what just happened, but he could do that later. Rosie was more important. "I'm okay, it's okay." He repeated as he took a few slow steps forward, extending his hand to her. "Take my hand," he encouraged softly, not knowing what he'd do it she refused. rose harriet granger-weasley

He wasn’t mad at her even after she literally bit his neck and drank his blood. He stood up too, speaking softly, he asked her to come back to him and they would figure this out. How could he be so stupid? “Brandon I’m not normal...anymore….” he admitted. “How can you still want to be around me?” she didn’t even want to be around herself. She saw herself as a monster, she could kill people now, that wasn’t something she was able to do before, not even with her hand, her magic always seemed to fail her. But now, she could barely control her desire to sink her teeth back into his skin again. She nearly licked her lips at the thought of it. He insisted he was alright and then asked her to take his hand. She hesitated. “I don’t know what to do…” she whispered quietly. She didn’t take his hand, but she looked at him, she wanted to. She didn’t want to hurt him.

Rosie looked like she was about to have a panic attack. Brandon knew that she just drank his blood and a part of him was a little weirded out by that, but he'd sort through his feelings on it later. Right now, his girlfriend needed him, so he was going to be there for her. "Rosie, I don't care about you because you're normal. I love you and whatever is going on," she was a vampire, "we'll work through it together. I'm not going to abandon you because something happened to you against your will." He was making a big guess here, but it seemed obvious to him. Rosie was not the type to like fighting or violence in any form. He couldn't imagine her willingly drinking a vampire's blood. Slowly he started moving closer to her. "It's okay, Rosie. We'll figure it out. What if ... let's go to St. Mungo's. Can we do that? Maybe they'll know how to help you." He knew they couldn't change her back. There was no way to do that, but maybe they would have suggestions or something for her. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie continued to look at him as he crossed to her. He explained that he loved her no matter what was going on and that he would be here for it. Sure he would. He was perfect. But Rosie couldn’t imagine him staying in a relationship with her when he would be in constant danger of her losing control and killing him. If that was even how it worked. She had no idea. They had talked about vampires in defense against the dark arts, but Rosie seemed to have a super power for forgetting information she learned in that class. The he brought up taking her to St. Mungos. Her breath caught. What would they do to her there? She wasn’t sure if they would help her or turn her away, but it was worth a shot, she decided. So she nodded, finally taking his hand. “Okay.” she nodded slowly.

This was all sorts of complicated and Brandon didn't like it one bit. He didn't like the look of fear and confusion on his girlfriend's face, didn't like her standing so far away, worried about him. He wanted to find some way to make things better, which was why he wanted to go to the hospital. Maybe there they would be able to get things figured out. He waited, hand outstretched, for Rosie to accept him and his offer. Finally she nodded, taking his hand and Brandon let out a relieved breath, smiling at her. "How do you want to go? We can take floo powder, I can apparate us ... or we could take a cab to the visitor's entrance?" She was the one that was so hesitant. Brandon wanted to do all he could to keep Rosie comfortable. Otherwise, she might just run away, which was not what he wanted. rose harriet granger-weasley

He was asking questions about how they should get there, she knew that he was trying to be helpful and make sure that she was okay and comfortable, but she was so upset and scared and shocked that she just shook her head and stepped to him, resting her head on his chest. “I don’t care.” she whispered. Being closer to him was helping, at least he was a familiar scent, but now, the scent that she was getting, the one that overwhelmed the smell of his cologne, was the scent of his blood. It was what had made her so crazy before. It was impossible not to smell, but, she kept her jaw clenched against him. She wasn’t going to let herself lose control again.
