I hope this letter finds you well. 

Ilvermorny has been an experience. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it's turned to be a bit of a culture shock. The food is different. And the school traditions are...strange..and also a bit stupid. Hell, I thought I hated quidditch with a passion before, but I've found a newfound hatred for this atrocity of a game called 'QuodPot'. I think I actually miss Hogwarts..

Yes, please come as soon as possible. How about New York? Or Los Angeles? Actually, I don't care where we go, I just want to see you and get away from the school. When are you planning to visit?

My wood carving tools got confiscated, so I can't make wands. Can you please bring me any tools when you visit? Or pull the Ollivander name card or something and tell this teacher to f-ck off? (Sorry for swearing.) It's not fair. I promise I won't get caught this time.

Are you talking about Yvonne? She has become an unexpectedly great friend. We used to hate each other but have realized it's probably because we're very similar. I'm grateful to have her as a friend because she has shown me around the school and helped me adjust.. 

How has the shop been? Miss me yet? Tell the rest of the fam I said "Hello" and can't wait to be home for holiday but also don't make me sound too desperate and miserable please.

Dearest Gideon,
How lovely to hear from you. And such a fast response from you. I anticipated you would take a few days to reply considering our minor spat before you moved to the dorms of Ilvermorny. I still apologise for that. But hopefully now you see my reasoning.

I'm so very glad to hear that while you're enjoying Ilvermorny..You also miss home. Is that an odd thing to mention? Surprisingly, I too wasn't fond of Quidditch, but your grandfather was. In his younger days anyway. Maybe your father is also the same. Have you heard from him lately?

I am willing to go to any location you wish to travel to my dear. I was planning to visit the next time they let the students out for the weekend. Similarly to the minor trips to Hogsmeade that Hogwarts used to offer. Does that sound good? I'll bring some spare tools and I'll also write an Owl to whoever's in charge to return your original tools to you. I have told you before to make sure you're only using them in your dorms. Otherwise they'll be seen as a weapon.

Yes! Her! I must meet her again. I recall only seeing her a few times over the summer. How unique that she too is attending Ilvermorny. Wasn't her grandmother English? But I'm glad she's helped you. I won't lie to you my sweet boy, I was scared when you first left, the lingering thought of lack of friends and a building pile of enemies for you stuck at the back of my mind. I hope you've been good or decent at least. You know your tongue always gets you into trouble.

I miss you dearly, you don't need me to write this in words to reassure the fact. I will send your greetings to Eleanor as Francis is still somewhat ignoring me.

Mummy Dearest,

If you want me to admit you were right, that wont be happening in this letter, but the United States definitely isn’t what I expected. Well, the bright side is I got this out of the way now and won’t waste time traveling here in the future when I’m more grown. I will never have the desire to return to the states. 

No, I haven’t heard from dad. He’s never been one to write letters. It’s okay, I don’t have much to say to him anyways….

Thank you for sending me the new tools. I wasn’t thinking about it when it happened. At Hogwarts they didn’t care but this place has so many more regulations regarding wands. I’ll guard these with my life and they won’t leave the dorm.

Merlin, Mum. How do you know everyone?? I’ve heard her grandma is a real…b— piece of work. She purposely makes Yvonne’s life hard and favors her twin sister for no reason. It’s weird. Especially since Yvonne is the superior twin. (Maybe I’m a bit biased) Makes me grateful to be an only child. What was it like having siblings growing up? Do you have any dirt on Benny that I can use later?

Please give Eleanor a hug for me...and maybe tell Francis to lay off the bottle and hookers from me... (Or maybe not I know you hate hugs and Francis ha)

Dearest Gideon,
Sorry for taking two days to reply, as you know the shop is behind on the backlog of autumn orders once more. The intern I hired before summer...or even earlier in the year is still getting used to the ropes of wood whittling and understanding the cores. These are the times I miss your intelligence and simple understanding for such a basic thing.

Regardless, I'm pleased to see and hear you received my previous letter. Although eventually I will expect that 'I told you so', even if it is not within this letter, I will still anticipate it. America is indeed...different but it is also home to many. Just like how it is your home for now. But your words bring me such relief as even travelling to that Merlin-forsaken place is such a hassle.

Okay. Well if you wish to communicate with him more, I can do so? He shouldn't be out of the loop in regards to his sons-well-being, despite the divorce and all.

Glad to know the tools also made it safely. But yes, if I am to receive another letter requesting such tools I will decline. You know these tools aren't cheap and while we are far from any issue in regards to finances and money, I don't need the earful from your grandfather about your recklessness with the tools.

I believe I initially met her grandmother at one of those Blishwick matchmaking things. The one I signed you up for years ago. We don't talk regularly but its refreshing to know that you have someone (whose company you actually enjoy) around you. Interesting to hear that she is a twin. Are they identical? Twins overall are such a fascinating topic but its also sad to know shes treated differently. Maybe its the basis of her relationship with her grandmother as not everyone gets along with their family.

Well, considering I was somewhat 'aware' of my surroundings when Francis was born, suddenly having siblings was challenging. No one really tells their children the details of it all until one day a newborn is presented to you. But for your aunt and then Gehry, it was somewhat different also. I raised Gehry similarly to how I raised you. But no. I don't have any 'dirt.' But if you wish to know something, feel free to ask your uncles. Francis included.

I'll say hello to them all instead. Please refrain from asking me to do anything that requires physical touch in the future.

P.S. When do you plan on asking that lovely girl on becoming your girlfriend? Don't think I- we haven't noticed!
