Ashley chuckled softly to herself when she saw that Sav did, indeed, notice her. He was headed her way and she was relieved for that. If anyone could distract her from the fact that Eli was here, Sav definitely could. Their date over the summer had been a lot of fun and she had been meaning to look him up here at school, she just hadn't had the chance yet. At least he was coming towards her right now. That had to mean he had fun too.
She laughed when he called her songbird. "Hey, super-popular-Quidditch-star," she teased back, winking at him. Flirting with him was so easy. She shrugged when he asked about the party. "Well I'm not really sure. I did just get here ..." she trailed off, pursing her lips as she pretended to think it over. "but the company seems pretty good, so I'm sure it'll be great. Anything I should be aware of before the party gets into full swing?"

Halloween had arrived, and with it a legendary party hosted by Lily Potter. Eli had asked her to join him at the party, and Brígh had readily agreed. She always had a really lovely time with Eli, and she hoped it would take her mind off of the gaping absence of Al's letters. At the very least, she could count on one of her housemates spiking the punch. She did mildly wonder how the professors let them get away with it, as they surely knew what sort of debauchery was going on at these parties. Lily had made it clear that there would be a party in the room of requirement, after all her posters plastered everywhere.
Brígh took a long swig of her trusty Jameson bottle, effectively clashing with her angelic outfit. She hadn't put much effort in at all, as she wore a simple white shift dress. Perhaps virgin was better suited. She snorted with laughter and emerged coughing. She poured a small amount into an empty phial, for later use. Tucking the bottle away under her bed once more, Bri rose and set off down the dormitory stairs, out the common room portrait hole and down the seventh floor hallway. She spotted Eli in the corridor where they had arranged to meet. He was holding a glowing thing. "Wow, what's that?" asked Bri, examining the glowing thing around his neck. "You look like a ghost. But an angelic ghost," she added with a grin. "Shall we go in then? Oh, this is for you if you like it," she added, holding up the phial for his inspection.

This was only the second conversion that Sav had ever had with the newly appointed Slytherin girl, but he was already impressed by her wit. So many times he’d try to strike up a conversation with some friendly teasing and risk the receiver having their feelings hurt or not understanding. Being able to hold a good, lively, witty conversation was essential to getting closer with the gentle giant that Sav liked to think that he was. She admitted that she just got here and then paused for a second before admitting that she liked the company, which caused Sav to let out a small but present bought of air in the form of a laugh. “Anything you should be aware of? What are you trying to apply? No one’s out to get you.” he teased. He was sure that she meant something little, pranks, or tricks, or spiked punch, nothing he would admit to, nor against. “Wannah dance?” he offered.

Fiona had begun to think that maybe coming to the party was indeed a mistake and that she should just leave now and avoid the discomfort and possible humiliation, when a girl came and introduced herself. Fiona recognized her as one of the American transfer students whom she met at Gilderoy’s party over the summer, but like the girl had said, she wasn’t sure that the two were introduced. The fact that the girl, Kaylee, remembered her was slightly shocking to the Hufflepuff. “I’m Fiona. Nice to meet you, Kaylee.” Fiona said with a sweet smile. She was a very friendly girl and loved being around people who she liked and liked her, it was just being in public and socializing in group situations that freaked her out. In the past she always had Gilderoy to lean on, during the time they were apart, she just didn’t go out, now she was trying again, however, this was the first time she had gone to a social event without Gilderoy and not even knowing whether or not he’d show up, she was pretty proud of herself. Even if she did end up leaving early. “How are you getting on at Hogwarts so far?” she asked politely, trying her best to be good at small talk for once in her life.

Maxima returned her compliment and Addilyn smiled politely, nodding in thanks. "It's all thanks to the amazing Lily Potter that we have this event. It was much needed after the Haunted Hogwarts event last night and this morning. Something just for the students," she said, her voice quite political as it often was. She looked up and watched some others enter, her eyes settling on Brigh for a moment and a smile growing across her face. "Will you excuse me?" she said to Max before slipping toward the door. She stepped out into the hall, looking down it, wondering if Edmund would even bother coming to this thing... and whether he'd be an angel or a devil if he did. mentioned: BRÍGH ENNIS O'DALAIGH , @edmund spoke to: maxima ruqayyah greyback

Riley hadn’t been out much so far this year, in fact, he hadn’t done much of anything besides sit on his bed in his dorm with his nose shoved in a book. He wasn’t quite ready to see anyone, he didn’t know how to properly face the world after all the drama that had gone down with him. He didn’t know who knew and what they knew if they did know something. He also didn’t want to spend every second with Prissy, which she seemed to want, so his dorm was a good get away. However, he felt like being a little social and decided to risk having to see Kinsey or Prissy in order to maybe see and catch up with some other friends.
Riley walked into the party and looked around. There was already a good group there, most of whom he knew of course. He was a 7th year, there weren’t many people he hadn’t seen before. However, with the addition of the new Ilvermorny students, there were a few new faces. Riley Fudge made his way over to the drinks and served himself a glass while he scanned the room.

He laughed at her teasing, which Ashley liked. Being around him was just so easy and she didn't have to worry about what she said. Things hadn't been that easy since ... it didn't matter. She could just enjoy being near someone who seemed to understand her quite well. She gave an easy shrug when he teased her back. "Well I don't know how these parties work. That's why I asked you. Super-popular-Quidditch-Captain? I figured you'd know all the ins and outs of something like this." She chuckled. She couldn't help but tease him. It was so easy and fun. Then he offered to dance with her and Ash's smile widened. "Love to!" she answered, reaching forward and talking his hand as she walked onto the floor. "What kind of dancing are you thinking?" Her parents made sure she knew how to dance well, so it would probably come in handy now.

Among the many Hufflepuffs getting ready for the Halloween party that someone was throwing there was one nervously pacing. Normally Jacob wouldn’t mind parties and typically enjoyed them. Sadly this year his sister Katherine had decided to be well, pretty much be herself. When she dared him to wear a costume he accepted, he wasn’t sure why he accepted. Possibly because he was around new friends and didn’t want to seem nervous. Jacob knew seconds later that he should have waited till after he saw the costume. He could have fought about it or complained but he was still around people and there was both being nervous about the costume and being watched by others. Katherine was quickly gone after leaving him the costume, which he assumed was on purpose so he couldn’t back down. Jacob could have just worn something else but he would have never heard the end of it from his sister or his friends.
Finally working up the courage to wear this ridiculous thing, Jacob made his way to the party. He followed some people as he wasn’t sure where this place really was. Looking around the party room, this room of requirements, It sounded interesting enough when a Hogwarts student explained it to him but right now he was just too embarrassed to care about that. He found his sister Katherine standing on the edge of the party away from most people. While Jacob didn’t plan to spend much of this party with her he did need to at least show her that he had worn this ridiculous thing. That was till he saw someone else walk up to her and he decided against it. The last thing he needed was for one of her possible friends to see him like this. Jacob nervously made his way to the snack table and attempted to just not be seen as best as had he could while one of his arms failed at attempting to cover his chest.

For as much as he had in his trunk or backpack Daniel didn’t have anything that would work as a costume. It wasn’t that big of a deal and if he was like how he had been last year he wouldn’t have even bothered going to a Halloween party. If there had been one last year he didn’t know or he didn’t care about it. Still this year was different, mostly because his old classmates were here. Daniel could have still disliked the move but it wasn’t like everyone else didn’t have to do it too now. There was a weird joy in knowing other people had been put through this too now. Like he wasn’t alone anymore, even if he came a year sooner than everyone else.
All his searching wasn’t helping and Daniel was debating on giving up. It wasn’t like he actually needed a costume of some sort. He told himself that but the more he looked the more determined he was to put something together. Thirty minutes later and between magic and what he could scrape together from the items in his truck he had made an attempt at a pirate costume from those old pirate of the Caribbean muggle movies he had seen once. When Daniel arrived at the party there were already plenty of people here. He saw a few people he recognized but no one jumped out at him that he should speak to right away. Instead Daniel just wondered the party for a moment looking over the decorations.

Katherine couldn't help but smile when Zeke walked in. He always looked well dressed, and she respected that. She was also glad to see another Ilvermorny devil. The more devils the better, especially if they were from Ilvermorny. She stayed on the sidelines, watching the people filter in and start to dance. She wasn't the biggest dancer, at least not when sober. If her girls were all here she'd dance with them - but so far none of them had arrived yet. She could have waited in the Common Room for them to be ready, but her curiosity about this little party had gotten the best of her, so here she wa- She almost didn't notice the guy walking up to her, and didn't look over at him until he had spoken. She raised an eyebrow at him. That wasn't a British accent. Interesting. He asked her a question, she didn't answer right away, and then he explained that he was indeed from Canada. Being from New York, she was fairly close to the border of their countries and... well... Canada wasn't that bad. Maybe a little whimpy, aside from their hockey. But a Canadian wizard... interesting. Oh, and a half-vampire too? Even more interesting. She found herself half smiling a little, just to show that she was indeed interested in conversing with this person. He held a hand out and she looked down at it, then took the hand to shake it. "One of the real ones, to answer your initial question," she finally said. "Also from the North, though not as North as you. New York, USA," she pulled her hand back, and her eyes darted toward the door as a familiar figure filled the space. Her brother, Jake, wearing the angel costume she had dared him to wear. She found herself laughing, then noticed Ashley not far off as well. But, she was slightly interested in this fellow, for now. She turned back to him. "And you? Real or fake?"@steve

It was a party so of course Gilderoy was going. It wasn’t something he had any part in putting together. No, this was of Lily Potters celebrations and those were also fun. Possibly a bit more just because he didn’t have to do any planning or work. All that was expected of him was to show up because obviously people needed to see him there. Lily had even made some theme out of this Halloween party by suggesting everyone where either an angel or devil costume. Gilderoy was definitely on the angel side of things. Which wouldn’t be so hard, a nice outfit and some wings and he was probably the best looking angel out there. He did forgo the halo, he just didn’t like the look and it would just mess up his hair anyway.
He arrived just as the party had seemed to be getting started. The decorations all looked nice enough, he might have been able to do better but this wasn’t his problem. Gilderoy was just here to have a nice time not critique anyone’s planning. He searched the room finding a few familiar faces. One of them being Fiona, she always stuck out to him possibly because he had always seen her before. Still it was surprising she would come out to such an event, not a bad surprise but he could have just seen her hiding off in her common room. Gilderoy thought of going to talk to her but she was already talking to someone, one of the Ilvermorny girls. There wasn’t any need to but in just yet, he could see how she was doing later.
Instead Gilderoy went to get himself a drink and while he did he found Riley just standing by the table. “I see you’ve finally left the dorm, nice of you to come out. Lily’s party is bringing everyone out tonight.” Gilderoy said jokingly for a moment as he got himself a drink. Also thinking about how it brought Fiona out too. It wasn’t hard to notice Riley had been missing more than usual and staying in the boys dorm whenever Gilderoy was in there.
@riley (Going to bug him for a bit till one of his Girlfriends shows up.)

The Halloween party might have been Lily Potter’s, though that hardly mattered. As far as Priscilla Rosier was concerned, the night was hers, and she wasn’t about to pass up an opportunity to socialize.
The very large pair of angel wings upon her back made it difficult to navigate through a room full of people, but Priscilla maintained her focus. Surely, she thought, her fiancé must have been in the Room of Requirement somewhere. Someone else mentioned that they had seen him walking in the direction of the room, and where else would he have been going?
Finally, Priscilla managed to reach Riley, locating him by Gilderoy and where the drinks were. She realized that she must have walked in a huge loop around the room and just missed him the first time.
“Riley!” she squealed as soon as she spotted him, squeezing past a few others and adjusting the hem of the short white dress that she was wearing. “There you are!”

The blonde girl introduced herself and smiled. “I’m Fiona,” she told her. “Nice to meet you, Kaylee.”
“Nice to meet you, too, Fiona,” Kaylee smiled back.
“How are you getting on at Hogwarts so far?”
Things were going better for her at Hogwarts than she could have hoped. Maybe every day wasn’t perfect, but Kaylee really felt as though she was beginning to find her place. “I like it here,” she said to Fiona. “I never would’ve thought that I would get to be on a committee to plan a huge Halloween event for people I don’t even know, but…” She shrugged her shoulders. Haunted Hogwarts had been a great success. “Last night was really fun,” she stated proudly. “It looks like tonight will be, too, huh?”

10.31.2024 “Knew it!” she squawked, throwing an arm into the air. There were only a few, sweet angels out there in the world, and while Addilyn Slater looked the part, Lily knew better than that. Slytherins were Slytherins after all, and they had to get their hands dirty at some point or another. It was a methodology that she could agree wholeheartedly with. “I’d be betraying myself if I did anything other than this, darling,” Lily added dramatically, elongating the ‘darling’ into as much of a drawl as possible. She had heard some of the American students do it without effort, and mimicking them was so much fun.
The first group of students arriving looked to be all Slytherins, which was no surprise considering their student rep was standing right next to her. “Like stealing candy from a baby,” she whispered behind a hand in Addilyn’s direction, waving enthusiastically with the other at everyone that walked by. She mouthed a ‘hello’ at Max as well, but had her attention immediately pulled away by a somewhat familiar face that was now addressing her. Definitely a Gryffindor, the name escaping her. “Yup that’s me!” she yelled over the music. “Thanks! Oh! Are those supposed to be your devil and angel on your shoulders?” she asked, poking each of them with both her pointer fingers at the same time. “Neato my friend,” she said as she continued observing the little figures. Why hadn’t she thought of that? The girl coughed though, causing Lily to pull her head back slightly, only to try and peer into the cup before her. “Well that didn’t last long. And here I thought we could get like, maybe ten minutes into it without anything being spiked. Set my hopes too high I guess…” she stopped, tilting her head to the side as she looked the girl over once more. “What was your name again?”

At some point on the evening of Halloween, well after the posted start-time, Jocelyn slipped in through the strange doors of this Room of Requirement that many of the students here spoke highly of. More than one student had told her about the party, so she was feeling hopeful about it. Maybe this would be a nice way to break some ice? Talk to some people? Maybe this was a good atmosphere to make things less awkward in the future? Even if it wasn't, a school party like this was sure to have some tight supervision, right? Once she was inside; however, she almost immediately regretted every thought that this might be a good idea. Bright colors, loud noise, dancing, shouting, students seemingly everywhere -all of them older than her. It was enough to give Jocelyn an instant headache. One more thing became quickly apparent... she hadn't made or gotten a costume. Jos was here in casual clothes. Jocelyn bee-lined for a wall away from the majority of people. It was marginally quieter there, sort-of, but she didn't feel any better. Moments later, while trying to look around the scene, the headache gave way to a hard throb and tightness in her chest. Jos slammed her eyes shut. Nonono; No, this was terrible. Terrible, no-good, poor decision on her part. Jocelyn wanted to leave. She sank back into a nearby shadow. Then the song changed, this one mixed louder than the first. The throbbing in her chest rose into her throat as the lights and noise and people began to blend into each other. Her breathing became quick and shallow, the throbbing spreading to her ears, somehow dulling all of her senses at once. The room set into a spin, the pounding, the lights, and the shouting closing in around her. Jocelyn shoved her hand into one of her pockets and pulled out a pair of squishy oval-shaped things which she jammed into her ears. It took a few long minutes and another song-change, but the ear-plugs brought everything back down to a manageable place. Finally, Jos could breath deeply and regain some of her composure. Unfortunately, now her head was feeling light and throat had gone dry. She opened her eyes and scanned around again, seeking something to drink. Her eyes settled on a nearby table that featured a punch bowl amongst a myriad of snacks. Avoiding eye contact with anyone, Jocelyn kept her eyes down as she tip-toed her way over to the bowl and poured herself a cup. She quickly downed one cup and poured a second, not realizing until she was walking away from the table (and halfway through the second cup) that the flavor seemed really weird for punch. The taste was... was... Jos spit a mouthful of punch back into the cup as her eyes slammed back shut in fear. Her chest began to tighten again. She needed to leave. Now. [ Help... or not ]
