"Yeah, I was… kind of a brat when I was a kid." the woman had said. Tammy didn't seem to be a "brat" now. Dmitri had interacted with people that really needed to grow up before. And he hopped that they had learned their lesson after he was done. The woman who he was with wasn't like any of those that he had interacted with when he was younger. That was good. He disliked spending time withe people who didn't understand the way the world worked. The world was hard and people weren't nice. If you weren't careful, they would take all that you had.
Dmitri didn't know many wizards or witches in the area, seeing that he was still fairly new to it himself. There could be many things to bring one to this area. Like she had said before, it was a wizarding hub. Dmitri assumed that the woman had come in search of a better job opportunity. Also, she could be trying to get away from something. In a way, he did. He wanted to take his sister away from their childhood playground where they would con and beg for money on the streets, and if they didn't make their father enough money....they would all regret it. Perhaps that was one reason that Dmitri had gotten into the underground fight scene. He knew how to take a hit.
Dmitri didn't disturb her thoughts. Tammy seemed to have gone somewhere, that he was sure she didn't want to invite anyone to. Everyone has things in their past they would rather not talk about. He knew that better than anyone. As they reached the row of small cafes, Dmitri smiled. "Where to?"

Dmitri smiled and spoke, pulling Tamatha from her thoughts on everything but the cafés available to them. "Where to?" Dmitri had asked her, and Tamatha realized that she hadn't even chosen somewhere for them to go. He probably thought that she was scatterbrained now, she thought to herself. Great.
"Sorry. Yeah, it's just the place on the left here," Tamatha responded quickly, trying to cover for her own mistake—even if she hadn't actually done anything wrong. She gestured in the direction of a small and unassuming café, the type of place that might be described as a "hole in the wall". The tables outside of the cafés were still there, though the umbrellas on them were closed and fastened because of the weather outside. It probably looked a lot nicer out there in the summer, Tamatha thought, but there wasn't a lot that she could do about that.
"The one with the little awning here," she elaborated, taking a step ahead and leading the way towards the door of the café in question.

The girl had apologized, obviously lost in thought, as Dmitri had suspected. She took a moment to gather herself, then began to lead him to a small cafe. The restaurant was small and, despite colder weather, had a couple tables and chairs still outside. He didn't imagine that many people used them at this time of year. He wasn't cold, but others were used to it, and thought it to be cold. The small place didn't look run down, and defiantly didn't look like anything illegal happened in it. But then again, they rarely do. If Dmitri had taken after his father, he would have used a place like this. It was so unassuming. It also didn't look like it got many people entering it. Just a few regulars and loyal guests.
Aside from that, it looked nice. She started to lead towards the door, and as they entered it, He reached his arm for the handle and opened the door for his companion. "After you" He then made a gesture to invite her inside.

Dmitri continued to be a gentleman in spite of her being a less-than-stellar tour guide, and Tamatha appreciated it. She had to wonder how much of it was just her Veela blood doing the work for her, but that wasn't exactly something that she could come right out and ask him as he went and held open the café door for her. "After you," he said, gesturing for her to enter the place.
Tamatha smiled again. "Thank you," she nodded to him, stepping through the door and into the café.
On the inside, the café was about as unassuming as it seemed to be from its exterior. There wasn't anything that stood out about it from a glance; it could have been any other café anywhere else in the world, honestly. A few more tables than there were outside sat indoors, and a case with an assortment of pastries faced the entrance. Up above the case of pastries was the menu, written out with the prices of the items on offer.
Tamatha turned to Dmitri as she waited for him to enter. "This is my treat," she told him.

Dmitri understood that the woman was quite attractive. He had guessed that she had some sort of charm about her. He knew that there would never be anything serious, but it never hurt to charm women. Reading people and telling them what he thought that they wanted to hear was simply second nature to him. She thanked him for holding the door open for her and he nodded as she entered the small cafe. He entered in after her and only had a second to look around the area before she had said that she was going to pay for them.
Looking around, Dmitri saw the smaller space had a few tables and chairs. and further back, he saw the counter where you obviously ordered your food. He first saw the menue written on a board that was mounted on the wall, and then his eyes landed on the case filled with pastries. His eyes glued he gave a small, genuine smile. Pulling his eyes away just in time to glance at Tammy "Thank you"

"Thank you," Dmitri told her, though his focus seemed to be on the pastry case from the time that he had seen it. Tamatha couldn't blame him for that, considering that the little café knew how to make some pretty decent baked goods.
"No problem," she replied. She was thinking about ordering a croissant for herself, although she also thought that a pain au chocolat would be nice. And then she would probably just get a coffee or something, maybe an espresso.
While she figured that out for certain, she looked to Dmitri. "The chocolatines here are really good," she noted, speaking of the same pains au chocolat that she was considering albeit using the term that had been most commonly used while she was living in Canada. "The chocolate croissant things. And the éclairs are generally pretty good here, too."

If the smooth talking, calculating mind of Dmitri had one fatal flaw, it would be his love of sweets. He didn't really know why. He was able to restrain himself in most instances. Because Tammy had offered to pay for him, he would hold back. But plans of returns were already formatting in his mind as he surveyed the menu, trying not to spend all his time looking at the contents of the case. He had hopped that she hadn't taken too much of a notice of his staring.
Looking at her as she mentioned the one of the pastries that were being displayed. Perhaps she had noticed. Or it was simply something that she really liked to get. It was hard to tell. He looked at the woman standing next to him "I'll have to give one of them a try then. Which would you suggest?"

Dmitri looked at her after she had given him her suggestions about the pastries that the café had available. She doubted that any of them were truly awful; she wouldn't have taken Dmitri inside of the place if it were really that bad. At the same time, though, it wasn't as though she had tried everything that that café offered. There were probably some gems that she hadn't given a chance before, though it was easier for her to stick with what she knew she liked and what couldn't be messed up very easily.
"I'll have to give one of them a try then," Dmitri said, however, of the baked goods that she had mentioned by name: the pains au chocolat and the éclairs. "Which would you suggest?" he asked her.
"So, personally," Tamatha mused, "I would go with the pain au chocolat. Simple. Classic. Can't go wrong with it. The éclairs, it probably depends how long they've been sitting there," she guessed. Considering that they had a more substantial filling, they would probably get a little weird if they had been sitting out for very long.

Dmitri pondered Tammy's suggestion. She suggested the pain au chocolat. Smiling he nodded and looked back to the lit case. There were quite a decent selection of pastries. He then looked back to her "In that case, I will just have to try it."
As he explained that, a young witch came from the back, looking slightly startled "Welcome, are you ready to order?" She expressed with a smile that could be considered to be a fake work smile. Dmitri could tell from her expression, that the younger girl was truly hoping that no one would come around during her shift.

“In that case,” Dmitri replied, “I will just have to try it.”
Tamatha nodded and watched as a young woman emerged from the back of the café. The girl didn’t look incredibly thrilled that she had customers, but that wasn’t really a problem. She hadn’t glowed about the café’s service or anything to Dmitri, so it was what it was. It was cold outside, and they were probably among the few customers that the place had had so far that day. “Welcome, are you ready to order?”
“I think we are…?” Tamatha answered her politely, looking to Dmitri for confirmation just in case he needed another moment or two to settle on what he was going to order.

“I think we are…?” Tammy had responded to the workers question. She then looked over to Dmitri to confirm. With a final glance at the menu and case Dmitri looked back to the girl he had walked in with an smiled. "I think we are." He confirmed stepping close to the counter. He didn't want to be impatient, or rude. "Ladies first." It was only right. Dmitri had learned at a young age that Chivalry, in almost any form, was something that women liked.
The girl behind the counter then smiled, looking at the woman "What can I get you" @tamatha

“I think we are,” Dmitri answered, stepping closer to the counter. Tamatha walked up towards the counter, too, stopping herself at roughly about the same point as Dmitri. “Ladies first,” he invited her.
Tamatha smiled to Dmitri, giving him a quick nod, and then looked to the girl who worked at the café.
“What can I get you?” the girl behind the counter asked her.
“I’ll just have an espresso and a pain au chocolat, please,” she nodded. Once she had given the girl her order, Tamatha turned to look at Dmitri again—okay, and maybe it was difficult for her not to—so that he could give the café girl his order.

The girl behind the counter had looked at the woman, and Dmitri had allowed her to approach the counter, stepping a side, if she wanted to move forward to order. “I’ll just have an espresso and a pain au chocolat, please,” she had ordered. After ordering, she had looked back to Dmitri, who quickly looked back from the pastry case to smile at Tammy.
"I will get a affogato with a pan au chocolat as well." He then gave an enchanting smile to the young girl who blushed

Next, Dmitri gave the girl working behind the counter his order, requesting an affogato and a pain au chocolat. His smile caused the café employee to blush, at which Tamatha laughed lightly to herself. She briefly wondered if Dmitri had some Veela blood in him that he hadn't mentioned before. He knew how to turn the charm on, anyway.
"An affogato?" Tamatha smiled, impressed with what Dmitri had ordered. "Very chic." She would have expected black coffee, given his enjoyment of that vodka from when they had met. Maybe he had more sides to him than she had anticipated, she thought as she paid for their orders, not that she minded it.

Dmitri was smart. He knew what women liked and he usually had a good idea of when they wanted it. Being a charmer helped him a lot when he was younger. It would be quite a scary thought if he had Veela like abilities. He didn't work in the love room, and he often wondered if the aroma somehow had started to seep into his skin and cloths. But that was an experiment for another day.
Dmitri smiled at Tammy as she commented on his order. "Very chic." she had said. "Is it?" He had asked genuinly. While liking and drinking vodka was from being native Russian, Dmitri had always had a bit of a sweet tooth. He had gone to a cafe one day and asked the barista to make the sweetest drink that they could think of. It ended up being an affogato, and he liked it, so he made a point to remember the name, if ever he needed another sweet drink. She paid for their food, and Dmitri motioned to a table, where he moved to pull out her chair for her.
